Mr. Ngo Tran Ngoc Quoc - Chairman of the Provincial Tourism Association reviewed the tradition of the tourism industry.
The meeting aims to review the tradition of the formation and development of Vietnam Tourism and Tay Ninh Tourism; at the same time, it is an opportunity for members of the Provincial Tourism Association to meet and share experiences in building and developing business products, about their enthusiasm and opinions in developing tourism in the province.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ngo Tran Ngoc Quoc - Chairman of the Provincial Tourism Association said that 64 years ago, on July 9, 1960, Prime Minister Pham Van Dong signed Decree No. 26-CP on the establishment of Vietnam Tourism Company (under the Ministry of Foreign Trade) despite the difficulties of war and lack of facilities. Since then, July 9 has been chosen as Vietnam Tourism Day every year.
Over the past 64 years, Vietnam's tourism industry has continuously developed, gradually becoming a key economic sector of the country. In Tay Ninh, with the orientation, leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee and thorough investment in infrastructure, especially the transportation sector, the province's tourism industry has achieved many positive results. In the first 6 months of 2024 alone, Tay Ninh tourism welcomed more than 3.4 million visitors; total tourism revenue is estimated at 1,800 billion VND.
Some typical products of Tay Ninh were displayed at the meeting.
At the meeting, many businesses expressed their opinions with the hope of further developing Tay Ninh tourism industry.
Ms. Hoang Thi Khanh Linh - Director of Vincom Plaza Tay Ninh Trade Center is concerned that at present, Vincom Tay Ninh does not have an area or booth to display local products. "Vincom Plaza Tay Ninh has many advantages with Vinpearl Hotel and many hotel and restaurant systems next door, many tourists come here to shop and visit. Therefore, I wish to create a space to display Tay Ninh specialties here.
We also hope to connect more with businesses to bring OCOP products and typical products of the unit closer to tourists. In addition, we also welcome businesses and units that can coordinate with us to organize workshops to introduce their products, helping people better understand Tay Ninh branded products" - Ms. Khanh Linh shared.
Agricultural tourism tours to visit custard apple gardens - a specialty of Tay Ninh - are being targeted by the authorities.
For Mr. Huynh Vuong Trung - Vice President of the Tourism Association, the biggest concern now is that Tay Ninh has too few satellite entertainment areas to meet the needs of tourists and local people.
“Currently, besides Sungroup investing in the development of Ba Den Mountain, we still lack many satellite entertainment areas. I myself am also implementing a number of projects to be able to build at least one satellite area. I suggest that we should cooperate and conduct in-depth research on satellite entertainment areas so that visitors to Tay Ninh can have some stops and stay longer,” said Mr. Huynh Vuong Trung.
Mr. Le Quoc Thieu - Director of Service and Business Development of Lien Hoa Thien Company (Ho Chi Minh City) said that through the support of the Provincial Tourism Association, he wants to go to Tay Ninh to connect all the products and services of the province through the company's e-commerce sites. "The next channel that Lien Hoa Thien is building is about vegan cuisine called chaychay.vn. We hope to delve deeper into the tourism categories, as well as the products and services in Tay Ninh to be able to bring the culture and people of Tay Ninh to the provinces, connecting many other categories on our channel" - Mr. Quoc Thieu said.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan - General Director of Saco Travel Company Limited expressed his wishes.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan - General Director of Saco Travel Co., Ltd., in the first 6 months of the year, Saco Travel has brought about 80,000 visitors to Tay Ninh. He said that Saco Travel currently has a bus trip from Ho Chi Minh City to tourist destinations in Tay Ninh, each trip is 30 minutes apart with 7-9-18 and 45-seat vehicles.
The General Director of Saco Travel shared: “I hope to be able to connect with all units to create joint products, bringing more and more tourists to Tay Ninh. And I also hope that the Provincial Tourism Association will ask for opinions from the provincial leaders, creating more conditions for us to be able to come up with a plan, avoiding the situation where there are times when there are not enough services for tourists on weekends, but there are more in the middle of the week”.
Saco Travel takes tourists from Binh Phuoc to visit the Cao Dai Holy See in Tay Ninh.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Tran Thi Huy Hoang - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism commented that recently, Tay Ninh tourism has had strong and breakthrough developments. Especially since the Covid-19 pandemic, Tay Ninh tourism has doubled the number of visitors and revenue compared to before. To achieve such results, thanks to the strong direction and leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee and functional branches; the companionship of businesses developing tourism-related fields.
