Marie - Joelle Oreve, MD, Autism Specialist (pictured below) said: “We will guide parents of autistic children on how to care for and accompany their children during the treatment process. There will still be cooperation and exchange of experts to support early detection and effective intervention for autistic children in the community.”
In addition to speech therapy, in 2023, the French Volunteer Group will also support the hospital with sensory therapy. Through this, it will help staff and doctors improve their ability to diagnose, treat, and intervene early and effectively for autistic children.
Doctor Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, in charge of the Department of Internal Medicine - Pediatrics, Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital shared: "With the support of French experts in sensory therapy methods, we can include exercises to help children deal with visual and auditory disorders; from there, children have the initial foundation to develop motor, language and cognition."
Through cooperation and training activities, the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital has approached and applied many new treatment methods such as: Sensory therapy, music , traditional medicine... to speed up the recovery process of listening, speaking, gesture and action skills that autistic children are lacking.

Every day, the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital receives and treats 140 children with signs of autism. The implementation of new treatment methods not only helps children improve their disabilities and have the opportunity to reintegrate into the community, but also contributes to raising the hospital's status and creating trust among the people.
