Recently, Long Chau and Organon Company Limited (Organon Vietnam) - a company belonging to a leading pharmaceutical group headquartered in the US specializing in women's reproductive health care, signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
The signing ceremony between Long Chau and Organon took place in the context of Vietnam - United States celebrating 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations. |
The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City and leaders of the two units, along with press agencies... demonstrating strong support from international and domestic organizations for the commitment to improve the quality of reproductive health care for Vietnamese women.
The UNFPA Representative congratulated Organon Vietnam and Long Chau on establishing a strategic partnership in the field of public health and social justice. UNFPA looks forward to continuing to accompany you on the road ahead.
In Vietnam, nearly 6 out of 10 pregnancies are unintended and 3/4 of abortions result from these cases. More worryingly, unintended pregnancies and high abortion rates not only affect physical health, but also leave lasting psychological trauma, silently reducing women’s quality of life and happiness.
Faced with that situation, Long Chau and Organon Vietnam have established a strategic partnership, contributing to building a comprehensive reproductive health care ecosystem, bringing practical and sustainable changes to the community.
This cooperation event marks an important milestone in the journey of accompanying Vietnamese women care between Long Chau and Organon Vietnam.
Through the program, the two sides aim to spread essential knowledge about proactive care, improve consulting skills for professional pharmacists, and support the female community in accessing appropriate and safe contraceptive solutions.
This is also a commitment that the two units together aim to inspire a proactive spirit in health care and empower each woman.
With the mission of accompanying Vietnamese women's reproductive health, Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Ha, General Director of Organon Vietnam, shared that today's memorandum of understanding reflects Organon Vietnam's deep belief that empowering women through equal, scientific medical services is not only a medical goal, but also a responsibility of the whole society.
Organon Vietnam is committed to continuing to accompany partners, medical experts, and the pharmaceutical community to build a comprehensive - scientific - and gender-sensitive reproductive health care ecosystem.
Organon Vietnam representative further emphasized that the strategic cooperation between Long Chau and Organon is a great combination that creates a comprehensive ecosystem to help create added values in the field of women's health care.
"We are proud to cooperate with Long Chau to bring comprehensive reproductive health care solutions closer to Vietnamese women. This is a practical step towards a future where all women have equal choice and care," added a representative of Organon Vietnam.
At the event, Organon Vietnam and Long Chau officially announced the pillars of strategic cooperation, demonstrating their commitment to sustainable companionship for the health of Vietnamese women.
Ms. Nguyen Do Quyen, Deputy General Director of FPT Retail and Executive Director of Long Chau pharmacy and vaccination system, expressed pride in the system of 2,222 pharmacies across the country. Long Chau currently has a team of more than 18,000 pharmacists - a large and dedicated professional force and a solid operating process. Long Chau has been serving and taking care of the health of 28 million customers and families - equivalent to 1/3 of Vietnam's population.
"Thereby, we identify our role as a fulcrum to join Organon in realizing breakthrough strategies to improve the quality of life for Vietnamese people in general, especially Vietnamese women, through advanced, sustainable and accessible medical solutions. At Long Chau, we believe that women's health care is not only the foundation of a healthy community, but also the clearest expression of a fair and progressive society. Women deserve access to quality, modern medical services regardless of whether they live in urban or remote areas," said Ms. Quyen.
It is not only a basic right, but also an essential factor for women to take control of their own health, future and life, thereby nurturing happy families and contributing to the sustainable development of the community and the country.
The program started with intensive training and workshops to improve professional capacity for more than 18,000 pharmacists in the Long Chau pharmacy system nationwide.
Not only do they have access to updated knowledge about reproductive health, the medical team is also equipped with consulting skills and support tools to become trusted companions with women on their journey of proactive health care.
Along with that, 2,222 pharmacies in the system will ensure widespread distribution of standard, safe and reasonably priced contraceptive products, helping all women have access to suitable solutions.
In parallel, the two sides will step up public education campaigns through social networks and mass media channels, focusing on raising awareness of modern contraception and the right to choose in health care, an essential right of women, but one that still faces many barriers in practice.
In particular, the program also pays close attention to areas with limited healthcare. 1,000 medical cabinets will be donated to remote health stations, carrying the hope of narrowing the healthcare gap and spreading real concern to each locality, each woman, whether in urban or rural areas.
Through strategic cooperation and practical actions, Long Chau and Organon Vietnam hope to not only improve the quality of reproductive health care, but also spread the message of equal, proactive and humane access to healthcare to the community, especially Vietnamese women.
