The project is a continuation of the program series "Early screening for chronic diseases - 2,222 pharmacies, for a healthy Vietnam". This is a practical step to spread the message of proactive healthy living, helping people to screen early, detect and promptly treat dangerous diseases, contributing to reducing the burden on the healthcare system in the future.
Representatives of Viatris andFPT Long Chau Pharmacy shook hands at the launching ceremony of the project "Hypertension Management: Early Screening - Correct Treatment - Healthy Living"
The program focuses on high-risk but undiagnosed groups. This action not only helps detect the disease early, but also creates opportunities for timely intervention, reducing the risk of stroke, heart failure, myocardial infarction and death. According to estimates by the World Health Organization, there are currently about 1.5 billion people in the world with hypertension and each year about 9.4 million people with hypertension die. In Vietnam, there are about 12 million people with hypertension, 1 in 5 adults with hypertension.
Medical experts say that high blood pressure (hypertension) is becoming a health problem that affects more and more people. More worryingly, the rate of people with high blood pressure that is not detected, diagnosed, treated and effectively controlled is still very high. This condition has the potential to lead to many dangerous complications, consequences that directly affect health and life. Regular check-ups and early treatment play a key role in controlling the disease, prolonging life and improving quality of life.
In August 2025, Long Chau and Viatris, with the professional support of the Vietnam Internal Medicine Association, will coordinate to organize blood pressure screening in a number of provinces and cities across the country. At the same time, at all Long Chau pharmacies, customers will be guided on how to measure blood pressure, screen for blood pressure, and detect blood pressure problems early. In addition, the program also provides documents on how to monitor blood pressure at home, support advice on a healthy diet and lifestyle, and recommend necessary steps if abnormal signs are detected. In addition, Viatris and Long Chau will continue to coordinate to organize professional capacity building activities and provide advice on cardiovascular diseases for Long Chau's pharmacist team on various platforms.
The project aims to raise public awareness and help people detect the risk of high blood pressure early.
Ms. Nguyen Do Quyen, Deputy General Director of FPT Retail and Executive Director of Long Chau Pharmacy and Vaccination Center, shared: " In Vietnam, many people only discover they have high blood pressure after serious complications have occurred. That urges us to act earlier, more effectively and closer to the community. With a network of more than 2,222 pharmacies and 18,000 pharmacists nationwide, Long Chau is committed to accompanying Viatris in the campaign to prevent and manage high blood pressure, through screening, consulting, training and health education communication activities. We believe that, with the combination of Viatris' scientific expertise and Long Chau's wide coverage, the campaign will bring practical impacts, helping people detect early, treat properly and control the disease sustainably - right from the community ".
The two units demonstrate their commitment and determination to work together for people's health for a healthier Vietnam.
Viatris representative, Ms. Radhika Bhalla - Market Director of Vietnam and Asian Union markets emphasized: "At Viatris, we always believe that good health is the foundation for a fulfilling life. Therefore, we are committed to providing practical treatment solutions, especially in the field of non-communicable diseases such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, ... which are one of the leading causes of death today. The cooperation with FPT Long Chau in this campaign is a testament to the joint effort to promote early screening, improve understanding of high blood pressure, and support people to access information and health care services right in the community. We expect the campaign to not only raise awareness but also contribute to changing behavior from prevention to effective and sustainable disease management".

Long Chau and Viatris expect to continue to work together to implement many practical programs, gradually building a sustainable healthcare ecosystem and joining hands to create a healthy future for all Vietnamese people.
