At the meeting, city officials discussed and reached a high level of consensus on the implementation of the City People's Committee's plan for preparing for the opening of the Ha Temple, Thuong Temple, and Y La Temple Festival in 2024.
Accordingly, the festival will be organized on a city-wide scale with both ceremonial and festive parts. The ceremonial part includes a sacrificial ceremony at the Y La Temple in Y La Ward and a procession of the Mother Goddess from the Y La Temple to the Ha Temple. The event will take place from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM on March 20, 2024 (corresponding to the 11th day of the 2nd lunar month). The procession route will start from the Y La Temple in Y La Ward, following Truong Chinh Street, Quang Trung Street, and Chien Thang Song Lo Street to the Ha Temple. The organizing body is the People's Committee of Y La Ward.
The ceremony will take place at the Upper Temple in Trang Da commune, followed by a procession of the Mother Goddess from the Upper Temple to the Lower Temple. The event will be held from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM on March 21, 2024 (corresponding to the 12th day of the 2nd lunar month). The procession route will follow National Highway 2C, across Nong Tien Bridge to the intersection (Nha Mac Citadel gate), along Binh Thuan Street, Quang Trung Street, and Chien Thang Song Lo Street to the Lower Temple. The organizing body is the People's Committee of Trang Da commune.
The opening ceremony of the Lower Temple, Upper Temple, and Y La Temple Festival will take place at 9:30 AM on March 21, 2024 (corresponding to the 12th day of the 2nd lunar month) at the Lower Temple, Tan Quang Ward. The closing ceremony and procession of the Mother Goddess back to the temple will be held from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM on March 25, 2024 (corresponding to the 16th day of the 2nd lunar month) at the Lower Temple, Tan Quang Ward. The procession of the Mother Goddess back to the temple will take place from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM on March 25, 2024 (corresponding to the 16th day of the 2nd lunar month), from the Lower Temple to the Y La Temple and Upper Temple.
The festival includes sports competitions and folk games such as tug-of-war, stick pushing, pot smashing, chess, sack racing, etc., held in Y La ward, Tan Quang ward, and Trang Da commune from March 19th to 25th. Additionally, there will be an exchange and presentation of the Vietnamese people's Tam Phu Mother Goddess worship culture on March 22nd and 23rd, 2024 (corresponding to the 13th and 14th of the 2nd lunar month), at the Ha Temple - Kiet Bac Temple historical site in Tan Quang ward.
Comrade Tran Viet Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of the city, requested that relevant agencies and functional units of the city coordinate well with the organizing unit to implement the assigned tasks, ensuring that the festival takes place safely, solemnly, and in accordance with rituals, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the cultural values of the province's National Intangible Cultural Heritage, meeting the religious needs of the people, and promoting tourism development in the area.
