Naming new villages should be linked to local history and culture.

On June 1st, Comrade Nguyen Hong Trang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Party Agencies, held a working session to inspect the progress of the village rearrangement plan in the communes of Quang Binh, Khuon Lung, Tien Nguyen, Yen Thanh, and Tan Trinh.

At the meeting, leaders from the five communes reported on the implementation of the village reorganization plan in accordance with the policies of the Central Government and the province. The localities are reviewing and developing plans based on current regulations, ensuring they are suitable to the actual conditions, maintain political stability and social order, and improve the effectiveness of grassroots management. According to the proposed plan, Quang Binh commune will reorganize from 23 to 12 villages, Khuon Lung from 19 to 10 villages, Yen Thanh from 12 to 9 villages, Tien Nguyen from 14 to 8 villages, and Tan Trinh from 17 to 9 villages.

After listening to the reports and discussions, Comrade Nguyen Hong Trang acknowledged the proactive approach of the Party committees and local authorities in preparing the plan for village reorganization. She emphasized that the reorganization must be carried out objectively, openly, democratically, and in accordance with regulations; ensuring the consensus of the people and maintaining unity in the residential areas. She requested that localities continue to strengthen propaganda efforts, understand the thoughts and aspirations of the people; carefully review the criteria, and comprehensively assess the impact after reorganization to develop a suitable and feasible plan. At the same time, attention should be paid to naming the new villages to ensure historical, cultural, and local identity elements are preserved; the process of soliciting public opinion should be fully implemented, and the dossiers completed according to regulations for submission to competent authorities for consideration and approval should be finalized. Regarding personnel matters, she requested a review, appropriate placement, and utilization of village officials, while also fully implementing the regulations and policies for part-time officials.
