The conversion framework provides the score ranges of individual exams (APT, HSA, TSA...) and the score ranges of appropriate high school graduation exam subject combinations according to the percentile method (a quantity used to estimate the proportion of data in a data set falling in a region higher or lower than a given value) based on the analysis of the exam results of candidates with both individual exam scores and corresponding graduation exam subject combination scores in 2025. The score ranges are ranked according to the 0.5%, 1%, 3%, 5%, 10%... groups as follows:
Table 1. Conversion framework for admission scores according to separate exams for admission scores based on high school graduation exam scores |
Responsibilities of training institutions when organizing entrance exams and independent exams: Determine graduation exam subject combinations suitable for the characteristics of the separate exam organized by the training institution and recommend other training institutions to use them, clarifying which combination is most suitable.
Announce the percentile of the results of the 2025 individual exams (X0, X1... in Table 1) before May 31; no later than June 30 for exams with results announced after May 31, 2025.
Coordinate with the Ministry of Education and Training to analyze the high school graduation exam results of candidates who have their own exam results, on that basis, announce the score ranges of the appropriate subject combinations (A0, A1..., B0, B1... in Table 1), no later than 3 days after announcing the high school graduation exam results in 2025.
Based on these figures, the admission scores and entrance thresholds of each specific industry and group of industries will be converted linearly within each score range. For example, the admission score according to the A00 combination (T_A00) in the range A2 - A3 will be converted to the admission score according to the HSA exam score (T_HSA) according to the formula:
T_HSA = HSA3 + (T_A00 – A3) × (HSA2 – HSA3) / (A2 – A3)
Conversion framework between combinations using high school graduation exam scores
The general admission support system maintains the form of entering the difference in scores between the original high school graduation exam and other high school graduation exams for a major of training institutions as in previous years. Determining the difference in admission scores between popular combinations will be based on the comparison of the score distribution announced by the Ministry of Education and Training after the 2025 high school graduation exam results are available according to each admission score range.
Framework for converting admission scores from high school academic results (report card scores)
High school transcript scores do not reflect the assessment results on a unified national assessment scale, so it is meaningless to build a common conversion framework. However, the Ministry of Education and Training will publish statistics on the correlation between high school graduation exam scores and average high school subject scores, on the basis of which training institutions will determine the conversion rules equivalent to admission scores and entrance thresholds.
Based on the principles and conversion framework according to the above instructions, schools build conversion tables and conversion formulas for each industry.
Specifically, schools will choose exams and subject combinations that are suitable for the industry's admission methods. For each individual exam, the school needs to create a separate table. Each conversion table should only use the most suitable subject combination.
Schools can divide the score ranges into more detailed ranges, or adjust the score ranges in the conversion framework to suit the requirements of each industry.
