Suddenly have more money than expected
Over the past few months, when the DT 719B section of Hon Lan - Tan Hai was being prepared for construction by the authorities, land prices in the related areas increased. Many land transfer transactions were successful, so the forecast for the 2025 budget revenue of the three coastal communes of Tan Thuan, Tan Thanh, Thuan Quy of the old Ham Thuan Nam district, now merged into Tan Thanh commune, continued to increase compared to the general allocation estimate.
This is a well-founded prediction, because in the past 5 years, despite the pandemic, fluctuations in dragon fruit prices, and unstable fishing, there were also times when agricultural and seafood prices were high, commercial services were bustling, plus the movements around the projects caused the commune's budget revenue to increase by 230% of the plan. That is, the total state budget revenue for 5 years of Tan Thanh commune is 60.875 billion VND/20.621 billion VND.
Because the revenue exceeded the plan, the investment in infrastructure in this coastal area in an effort to meet the new standards of a new rural commune has created rapid changes. According to statistics of Tan Thanh commune, from 2021 to now, the commune has built 197 roads with a length of 47 km, with a total cost of more than 59.4 billion VND; of which, people contributed more than 20.8 billion VND. At the same time, people were also mobilized to build 98 gravel and stone roads, with a base, 55 km long with a total cost of 150 million VND...
The above figures show that the rural landscape has changed significantly, and the lives of people in the commune continue to improve. The concrete evidence is through the spacious roads; through the beautifully designed houses that make visitors admire; through the bustling residential areas, flourishing commercial services...
In fact, it is not only the budget that has excess revenue. Even individual households, through agricultural seasons, fishing, aquaculture, etc., according to market prices, suddenly have unexpected amounts of money.
As of now, in Thanh Phong village, fishermen boast that in this southern fish season, in the past few days, they have earned 2-5 million VND/day, which is normal. Then they honestly admit that there are times when they earn nothing from the sea, similar to the luck of dragon fruit production and business in the past 2-3 years. But because of these fluctuations, coastal people have learned to save and diversify their income sources for sure. Like other families who do not work in the sea, in previous years, family members have participated in different businesses depending on their conditions. Because in the commune, there is not only dragon fruit production and seafood fishing, but also aquaculture, salt making, tourism ... Accordingly, the services associated with these industries have flourished and from here, trade has also developed accordingly.

There are many conditions for a breakthrough.
According to the assessment of the Political Report presented to the 1st Congress of Tan Thanh Commune Party Committee, term 2025-2030, it shows that the economic structure at the beginning of the term is mainly agriculture, with the proportion of agriculture - forestry - fishery often accounting for the majority (over 40-60%) in the local GDP structure; construction investment is still small and underdeveloped; services and trade account for a low proportion.
But up to now, in mid-2025, it is clear that high-tech agriculture and seafood fishing have received investment in equipment, reducing traditional agricultural labor. Services, especially tourism, trade, agricultural material supply, electronics, transportation services... have grown strongly. Up to now, the whole commune has 150 enterprises, 300 individual business households...
That is the reason why Tan Thanh Commune Party Committee sets a common goal for the coming term. Specifically, focusing on mobilizing resources to build a synchronous and modern infrastructure system; promoting economic restructuring towards trade and services becoming the mainstay of the economy; promoting agricultural development towards smart high technology, associated with processing industry and product consumption... From here, the commune proposes solutions, identifies key tasks, and breakthroughs to gradually overcome the recognized reality that economic development is not commensurate with the locality's advantages; goods are not yet diverse; many tourism projects are slow to implement construction...
In a series of new construction projects to be implemented in the coming term, there is the Ta Cu - Bung Thi - Song Phan Urban Complex, Trade and Services, Entertainment, Eco-Tourism and Spirituality Project through Tan Thanh Commune; DT.719 Road Project from Hon Gio - Thuan Quy intersection to Ke Ga; Upgrading Hon Gio - Thuan Quy Road; Auctioning and bidding for land funds on both sides of DT.719B Road to implement projects such as: Trade - Services, Hospital 175... All of these show that with the above routes, Tan Thanh Commune will connect adjacent communes and areas to attract more investment. Therefore, the implementation of major tourism projects that have been identified will also be more favorable.
This also shows that Tan Thanh commune has more conditions to carry out development breakthroughs as planned. First of all, it is necessary to mobilize and effectively exploit resources, build a synchronous and modern infrastructure system; focus on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector of the commune; apply digital transformation in the tourism industry, develop smart tourism utilities, manage tourists, tourism activities and tourism resources.
Deputy Secretary of Tan Thanh Commune Party Committee Mai Thi Ngoc Anh said that in the near future, attracting more businesses to invest; encouraging people to develop and expand industrial and handicraft sectors, producing typical products to serve tourism... is a focus for Tan Thanh Commune. That not only increases sustainable budget revenue, proactively sources for building agricultural and rural infrastructure but also through the business force contributes to helping the commune ensure the achievement of the targets set during the term. That is the rate of trained workers is 80%, creating jobs for 700 workers annually...
Promoting the development of modern agriculture, applying technical advances and high technology in production is the focus. Focusing on developing trade and services is a breakthrough; shifting the economic structure towards a green economy and a circular economy; effectively exploiting and using the available potentials and advantages of the locality.
