With the advantage of having National Highway 1A – a crucial transportation artery connecting the northern provinces – passing through it, along with a gradually developing and synchronized transportation infrastructure system, Huu Lung commune has many favorable conditions for developing trade and services.
Ms. Tran Thuy Bay, manager of Thuy Linh Restaurant (Thuy Linh Lang Son Co., Ltd.), said: "Since 2018, the company has invested in building the restaurant. Because it's located near National Highway 1A, with many vehicles carrying passengers passing through the area every day, the restaurant has a stable flow of customers. Thanks to this, the business is growing and providing regular employment for 4 to 6 local workers."
Along with businesses, many households in the commune have also boldly invested in expanding their scale of trade, diversifying goods and services to meet market demand. Ms. Do Thi Hau, owner of a shop in An Ninh area, Huu Lung commune, said: "Since 2020, recognizing the increasing shopping demand of the people, I have invested in expanding my business. The shop currently displays over 3,000 items. All products are imported from reputable suppliers with clear origins and guaranteed quality. On average, the shop welcomes about 100 customers per day; during peak seasons, the number of customers can double."
Not only the two businesses mentioned above, but according to statistics from the People's Committee of Huu Lung commune, the entire commune currently has over 1,000 commercial and service businesses operating in various fields such as: general business, food and beverage, accommodation, transportation, etc.
The development of trade and service activities not only creates jobs and increases income for the people but also makes a positive contribution to budget revenue. Accordingly, in 2025, revenue from trade and service activities will account for approximately 40% of the total budget revenue of Huu Lung commune (the total budget revenue of the commune in 2025 is expected to exceed 503 billion VND).
To promote the development of trade and service activities, the Huu Lung commune government has implemented many comprehensive solutions such as: creating favorable conditions regarding administrative procedures and premises, guiding people in registering their businesses; strengthening propaganda and encouraging businesses to comply with regulations on price listing, ensuring food safety and hygiene, and building a civilized commercial lifestyle...
In particular, the People's Committee of the commune is currently actively coordinating with relevant agencies and investors to complete land clearance for industrial park and cluster projects. Among these, the VSIP Lang Son industrial park stands out, with its technical infrastructure being finalized. This is expected to create further impetus to boost trade and service activities in the coming period.
Mr. Cao Van Hoa, Chairman of the People's Committee of Huu Lung Commune, said: Trade and services play an important role in the socio -economic development of the locality, contributing to job creation, increasing people's income and promoting economic restructuring. In the coming time, the People's Committee of the commune will continue to effectively exploit the advantages of geographical location, transportation infrastructure and industry to attract investment and develop diverse types of trade and services. At the same time, the People's Committee of the commune will continue to create favorable conditions for organizations and individuals to expand production and business activities; strengthen coordination in market management, prevention and control of smuggling and commercial fraud, contributing to building a healthy business environment.
With synchronized solutions from the government and the proactive efforts of the people and businesses, the trade and service sector in Huu Lung commune is gradually developing steadily. This contributes to creating momentum for the locality to strive to achieve the goal of having the trade and service sector account for 38-39% of the commune's economic structure by 2030.
