Credit mobilization reached 42,500 billion VND, bad debt was controlled

(sonla.gov.vn) Credit institutions in Son La province have strictly implemented the regulations and instructions of the State Bank on interest rates; ensured safe and effective credit growth, limited bad debt; applied reasonable lending interest rates based on mobilization interest rates and loan risk levels, and shared difficulties with customers. Thanks to that, the local currency market has remained stable.

Credit capital mobilization reached 42,500 billion VND.

It is estimated that by August 31, 2025, the total mobilized capital will reach about VND 42,500 billion, an increase of 10.82% compared to the end of 2024; outstanding loans will reach about VND 51,800 billion, an increase of 8%. On-balance sheet bad debt is controlled at 1.6% of total outstanding debt.

Currently, there are 22 credit institutions in the area, with 51 transaction offices, 143 transaction points, 81 ATMs/CDMs and 168 POS card acceptance points. As of August 31, 2025, credit institutions have issued more than 1 million ATM cards. At the same time, units have promoted services, waived many fee packages, and encouraged people to make non-cash payments. Since the beginning of the year, the whole province has recorded over 57 million non-cash transactions, with a total value of more than VND 210,000 billion. The information technology and payment systems operate safely and stably, without any incidents or unusual developments.

In the coming time, Son La province will continue to promote capital mobilization, strive to reduce interest rates according to the general policies and orientations of the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam, develop a variety of banking credit products suitable to the production, business and consumption needs of people and businesses; create favorable conditions for people and businesses to access bank credit capital, contributing to limiting black credit; continue to implement the Digital Transformation Plan of the Banking sector to 2025, with a vision to 2030. Promote the development of modern payment services, ensure security and safety of information technology and payment systems; expand the digital ecosystem, promote the provision of non-cash payment services in the public sector, public administration, especially in the fields of health, education , and social security payments.
