Kien Thuy district summarizes summer activities and summer youth volunteer campaign in 2024

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of August 28, the Kien Thuy District Summer Steering Committee held a summary of Summer Activities and the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. Comrade Pham Tien Thuat, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, Head of the District Summer Steering Committee chaired the Conference.

After 3 months of implementation, the Summer Activities and Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2024 in Kien Thuy district have been successfully carried out. 100% of communes and towns have established Steering Committees, developed plans and organized appropriate activities for children in the area. The rate of gathering children to participate in summer activities in the locality reached 70%, including many models that attracted a large number of children to participate.

Comrade Pham Tien Thuat, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, Head of the District Summer Steering Committee spoke.

In particular, communes and towns organized campaigns to clean up the environment, repair and embellish local martyrs' cemeteries; visited and helped families with meritorious services, families with revolutionary contributions, families of Agent Orange/dioxin victims on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day. The District Summer Steering Committee deployed the "Month of Action for Children" in 2024 and Vietnamese Family Day on June 28; did a good job of mobilizing social organizations and people of all walks of life, organized visits and gave gifts to 115 children worth 60 million VND; the Summer Steering Committees of communes and towns gave gifts to 92 children on the occasion of International Children's Day on June 1, with a total value of 30 million VND....

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khanh, Secretary of the District Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union Committee of Kien Thuy district informed about the results of summer activities.

100% of the Youth Union and Association branches launched a series of activities in response to "Green Sunday" on June 25 and July 21 with meaningful activities at the grassroots level. 100% of the Youth Union branches in communes and towns maintained effective operation of the Community Digital Technology Team, focusing on supporting people at the "one-stop shop" department. Responding to "Hai Phong Youth join hands to build new rural areas, model new rural areas" in 2024 by organizing the inauguration of a playground for children, planting trees, cleaning the marine environment, launching a model for collecting and processing old and broken batteries...

Skills training activities for children such as organizing cultural and artistic talent classes, sports classes, swimming classes; training in skills to prevent drowning, injuries, child abuse... are organized systematically by units with high efficiency.

Collectives and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the District People's Committee.

In recognition of the achievements, the District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 groups and 5 individuals; the District Summer Steering Committee awarded Emulation Flags to 5 groups; the District Youth Union Standing Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 11 groups and 11 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing summer activities in 2024.
