Special villages honor Lady Trieu
According to historian Duong Trung Quoc, both the elements of “geomancy and human talent” of the sacred land of Nua Mountain - Am Tien (Trieu Son District, Thanh Hoa Province) have been integrated into a meaningful space. Therefore, each spiritual tourism complex and Am Tien historical relic built here consistently honors the historical and cultural values of the locality, with thousands of years of echoes from the symbolic character of the land.
Perspective of the Am Tien Legend Complex
First of all, the entire Huyen Tich Am Tien project complex is white, inspired by the image of the one-tusked white elephant that Lady Trieu rode into battle. Not only that, the project has its own "Huyên Tích Village" area spanning over 10 hectares, where the architecture and landscape are closely linked to the life, spirit and spirit of National Hero Trieu Thi Trinh. Here, 5 "themed villages" of Fire, Water, Yin, Metal and White Elephant, with the focal point being the statue of Lady Trieu, recreate stories about the talented female general of Thanh land through every detail of sculpture, sound or work of art.
Hoa Village represents the spirit and resilience of fighting, with the central structure being the flaming sword - a symbol of indomitable will. The space paved with Bat Trang red bricks is where festivals take place to honor bravery.
Thuy Village represents the spirit of quick battle, quick victory - preparing before each battle, with a large lake and embossed white elephant footprints - reminiscent of the loyal elephant mascot. Here, there are traditional handicraft experiences such as fabric dyeing, lacquer, mother-of-pearl inlay, embroidery and printing as a way to preserve the ancient craft of Vietnamese villages.
The Am Village symbolizes Lady Trieu’s call for the people and army to rise up and defend the country. The central symbol is a golden gong, simulating the resounding sound of war drums. This space is dedicated to the making and playing of traditional musical instruments, from monochords, bamboo flutes to gongs and drums.
Kim Village opens up a space to explore crafts related to gold, silver, copper, bamboo and wood. This is also an opportunity for visitors to learn more about the sophistication and talent of Vietnamese artisans.
Bach Tuong Village is the most sacred area, with the central symbol being a white elephant with one tusk, surrounded by white gravel, symbolizing the strength and nobility of the mascot associated with Ba Trieu. The experiences here are quite unique such as touching elephants, stroking their tusks, or learning about the craft of making silver jewelry with products inspired by the image of elephants.
“Legendary Village” consists of 5 areas built to honor Ba Trieu.
Along the route between the villages, art works created by young Vietnamese artists are cleverly arranged, from elephant statues, swords, shields to yellow flags, creating an emotional visual journey. In particular, the “History Wall” made of Vom village pottery, made by Thanh Hoa artisans, will tell the entire legend of Ba Trieu in detail and vividly.
In the context of globalization, preserving cultural heritage is not just about preserving artifacts or telling old stories. The Am Tien Mysterious Site offers a new approach: telling historical stories through modern experiences. A child hearing the story of Ba Trieu can carry the image of the female general in his mind, and then grow up with national pride. An elderly person, when walking through the streets in the project's campus, can feel a deep connection with their ancestors, as if they are talking to history itself.
The image of a white elephant is attached throughout the project.
Raising the profile on the spiritual tourism map
According to Professor of Culture Tran Lam Bien, Am Tien is a relic site that converges many historical elements, important national cultural issues, and national unity. This is a place that represents the dreams left by our ancestors, one of the high accumulation areas of traditional culture.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Van Bai, former Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), Vice Chairman of the National Cultural Heritage Council, acknowledged that the Nua - An Tien mountain area is associated with religious activities and festivals and has great appeal to the public, thanks to the depth of intangible heritage values, and has great tourism appeal.
Up to now, this special resource has been awakened. The project is considered to be able to change the picture of tourism or more broadly the economy of Thanh Hoa. Associate Professor Tran Dinh Thien (former Director of the Vietnam Economic Institute) agrees that the project "Am Tien Legend" is part of a major trend of developing the cultural industry. In the context of the overall development explosion of Thanh Hoa and the tourism system, the appearance of the complex will create resonance as well as a great impact. Moreover, this project also has a strong historical and cultural position, with the stature to compete internationally.
In addition to the economic and social values it brings, by combining the past and the present, “Am Tien Legend” also creates great spiritual values, helping each visit of the people become a meaningful journey, not only a simple journey of discovery but also a journey to extend the national spirit./.
