After Bahrain won against Jordan in Group C of the Asian Cup, the Indonesian team had even less chance to get a ticket to the round of 16. However, at the last minute, luck "knocked on the door" for the team from the archipelago.

Oman opened the scoring in the 8th minute by Muhsen Al Ghassani. They were unable to score a second goal. Finally, disaster struck the West Asian team. In the 80th minute, Kojo equalized 1-1 for Kyrgyzstan. This score was maintained until the end of the match.

With this result, Oman is only third in Group F with 2 points. They are behind Indonesia in the group of third-placed teams with the best results. The team from the archipelago has won 3 points after winning against the Vietnamese team.

This is the first time Indonesia has qualified for the group stage of the Asian Cup in history. In the round of 16, they will face a very strong opponent, Australia. Although the strength of the two teams is quite different, Indonesia cannot be underestimated when they are in high spirits.

The most notable match in the round of 16 is the confrontation between South Korea and Saudi Arabia. The draw with Malaysia made the Korean team only finish in second place in Group E and they have to face the top team of Group F, Saudi Arabia. This promises to be a balanced match.

Hosts Qatar will face Palestine. Iran will face Syria, Japan will face Bahrain, Tajikistan will meet UAE or Iraq will face Jordan are the remaining matches in the round of 16 of the 2023 Asian Cup.
