Recently, Indonesian media outlets have reported that the country's women's national football team is preparing to make quality additions from naturalized Dutch players. Coach Satoru Mochizuki admitted that this is the quickest way for Indonesia to strengthen its team and catch up with the leading women's football nations in Southeast Asia.
Currently, three players have officially received Indonesian citizenship and are eligible to play for the Indonesian women's national team: Sydney Hopper (born in 2007), Kayla Ristianto (born in 2005), and Katarina Stalin (born in 2009).
In addition, four other individuals are in the process of completing the procedures and will soon receive their Indonesian passports: Noa Leatomu (born in 2003), Estella Loupatty (born in 2003), Talia Grossman (born in 2002), and Nikita Tromp (born in 2002).
It is expected that the seven players mentioned above will be part of the Indonesian women's national team participating in the 2025 AFF Women's Cup qualifiers in November 2024. Prior to that, the Indonesian women's national team will have an official friendly match against the Netherlands women's national team during the FIFA Days in October 2024.
