Apple has just released iOS 26 Beta 7, bringing a host of new features focused on battery life and user health. Adaptive Power – an intelligent power management feature – will warn you when your iPhone's performance drops to optimize battery life, while Liquid Glass continues to be refined. Additionally, iOS 26 Beta 7 and watchOS 27 Beta 7 also restore the blood oxygen measurement feature on the Apple Watch with a new display mechanism.

Adaptive Power: More sophisticated battery management
The biggest highlight in iOS 26 Beta 7 is Adaptive Power. This is a new battery management mode designed by Apple to strike a balance between performance and battery life.
Users can find this option in Settings > Battery > Power Mode with a toggle switch for “Adaptive Power Notifications”. When enabled, the iPhone will automatically make small changes such as reducing screen brightness, adjusting background activity, and activating Low Power Mode when the battery is at 20%.
Unlike Power Saving mode, which aggressively disables many features, Adaptive Power aims for a more subtle and intelligent approach. It retains some essential functions but optimizes them just enough to extend battery life without making users feel overly restricted.

Power Saving Mode: A familiar but necessary change
Alongside Adaptive Power, Low Power Mode continues to be maintained and has been further refined. When activated, this feature will:
Turn off 5G for most tasks, except for large downloads and video streaming.
Disable the Always On Display feature.
Reduce the ProMotion refresh rate to 60Hz.
Reduce the auto-lock time to 30 seconds.
Pause background app refreshes, iCloud Photos sync, and automatic downloads.
These changes aren't new, but combined with Adaptive Power, users now have two additional power management modes: a more gentle mode and a more powerful mode for when extended battery life is truly needed.

Liquid Glass: More transparent in Beta 7
Besides battery improvements, Apple also continues to refine the Liquid Glass interface – the signature transparent effect in iOS 26. In Beta 7, this effect is clearer, less distracting, and creates a smoother user experience.
This change suggests that Apple is still experimenting to find the optimal balance before releasing the official iOS 26 version in September.
Adaptive Power combined with Apple Intelligence
Notably, Adaptive Power and Adaptive Power Notifications are integrated with AI (Apple Intelligence). Automatic battery adjustments will no longer be mechanical, but will learn each person's usage habits.
The list of supported devices includes:
iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max
iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus
iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max
This shows that Apple is making battery life and performance an integral part of its personalized AI ecosystem, rather than just a traditional power-saving feature.
Blood oxygen measurement is back on Apple Watch.
In addition to iOS 26 Beta 7, Apple also released watchOS 27 Beta 7, which brings back support for blood oxygen (SpO2) measurement.
Previously, this feature was discontinued due to a patent dispute with Masimo, leading to an import ban on Apple Watch in the US. Apple's new solution is to transfer SpO2 data from the Apple Watch to the Health app on the iPhone, instead of displaying it directly on the watch screen.
The Apple Watch models that will benefit include:
Apple Watch Series 9
Apple Watch Series 10
Apple Watch Ultra 2
With this solution, users can still monitor their blood oxygen levels (which typically range from 95% to 100% in healthy individuals), while Apple avoids legal trouble.
The final beta before iOS 26 is stable.
Apple's release of iOS 26 Beta 7 – just one week after Beta 6 – indicates that the testing process is nearing completion. At this pace, it's likely there will only be one or two more beta versions before iOS 26 officially launches in September.
Many users who participated in the beta program since June have reported that iOS 26 Beta runs stably, has few serious bugs, and has provided an early look at new features. However, most are still looking forward to reverting to the stable version for the smoothest experience.
iOS 26 Beta 7 marks a significant step forward in battery management with Adaptive Power – an intelligent, flexible, and less disruptive mode. Simultaneously, Apple continues to refine the Liquid Glass interface and restores blood oxygen measurement on the Apple Watch.
With these changes, iOS 26 promises to be not just a user interface upgrade, but also a turning point in how Apple integrates AI into battery and health experiences. Users won't have to wait long, as the stable version of iOS 26 will officially launch with the new generation of iPhones in just a few weeks.
