On September 30, Apple officially added the iPhone 11 Pro Max to the list of products it identifies as "vintage".

However, the iPhone 11 Pro (standard version) is still missing from the list, suggesting that Apple may have kept the iPhone 11 Pro available to some third-party retailers for a longer period of time.

Notably, despite being classified as vintage, the iPhone 11 Pro Max still shows high compatibility when it currently receives support for upgrading to iOS 26. The iPhone 11 generation, launched in 2019, is the oldest device to support iOS 26.

On the same day, all versions of the Apple Watch Series 3 smartwatch were also added to the list of vintage products of "Apple", more than 8 years after the device was officially launched on the market.

According to Apple's official definition, a device is considered vintage when it has been more than five years since the company stopped distributing it for sale. For this group of devices, Apple and Apple Authorized Service Providers can still provide repair services, however, the service is only performed when replacement parts are still available.

The Apple Watch Series 3 has been a rare phenomenon in Apple's product history. With its accessible price, the Series 3 has served as a gateway to millions of new users into the Apple Watch ecosystem.

Not only did this device sell well for five years, it was also the first version of the Apple Watch to no longer receive software updates (since watchOS 9) before being completely discontinued from the product line.

The Apple Watch Series 3 launched in September 2017 and remains a solid option in the budget segment until September 2022.

The Series 3 even has such a long lifespan that the Apple Watch Series 4 models, which came out a year later, are listed as vintage before the Series 3.
