Could iPhone 16 new colors be coming soon?

Apple typically releases new color options for iPhones as a mid-cycle refresh. Could users expect a new 16-color iPhone in 2025?

Previously, Apple has added new colors to the iPhone six times, usually in March or April after the new iPhone model is launched.

Specifically, the additional color options for previous iPhone models are as follows: iPhone 7 and 7 Plus: (PRODUCT)RED (Tuesday, March 21, 2017); iPhone 8 and 8 Plus: (PRODUCT)RED (Monday, April 9, 2018); iPhone 12 and 12 mini: Purple (Tuesday, April 20, 2021); iPhone 13 and 13 mini: Green (Tuesday, March 8, 2022); iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max: Alpine Blue (Tuesday, March 8, 2022); iPhone 14 and 14 Plus: Yellow (Tuesday, March 7, 2023).

Currently, there are no leaks about new color options for the iPhone 16 , and it's possible Apple will skip them this year, as it did with the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and iPhone 15 in 2019, 2020, and 2024, respectively.

However, since 2017, Apple has added new colors more often than it has skipped any, so the possibility of a color update this year remains, although nothing is certain.

Apple only added new colors to the "Pro" models once, in 2022, so while it's theoretically possible, it's unlikely to happen, especially with the iPhone 16 Pro models.

Currently, the iPhone 16 comes in the following color options: Black, White, Turquoise, Pink, and Ultramarine Blue. Some additional colors that may be added include Red, Yellow, Purple, or Gray, as these colors have appeared on previous iPhone models and are not very similar to the current colors.

There are usually leaks hinting at new colors, but it may still be too early to determine this based on previous years.

Looking ahead, Apple may soon launch the iPhone SE 4 along with new Powerbeats headphones. According to sources, immediately after the launch, Apple may begin taking pre-orders for the ‌iPhone SE‌ 2025 before it officially goes on sale at the end of February.
