Battery life is always a top concern for iPhone users. Although Apple has made significant improvements on recent models such as the iPhone 16, the company's battery performance is still considered inferior to many competitors in the market.

Leaks of the iPhone 17 Air’s ultra-thin design are creating a wave of excitement and concern. A thinner design usually comes with a smaller battery, which means users may have to charge the device more often.

However, a recent leak suggests that Apple may have found a solution to this problem.

According to information from 91mobiles , Apple seems to have filed documents with Taiwan's NCC regulatory agency for a new generation of MagSafe charger. The most notable point is that this charger supports the Qi 2.2 wireless charging standard, promising to push charging speed to a new level.

The images in the document show that this new charger is capable of reaching a maximum power of 45W when used with a compatible charger. To put that in perspective, the current iPhone 16 models only support MagSafe charging up to 25W, and the 45W speed is even far beyond the 20W-27W wired charging that Apple currently equips the iPhone with.

Notably, Qi 2.2 charging technology not only brings faster speeds but also improved performance and more precise magnetic attraction. If this information is correct, the iPhone 17 series will be the first devices to benefit from this groundbreaking charging technology.

Equipped with super-fast wireless charging up to 45W will be a perfect compensation for the super-thin design of the iPhone 17 Air. Users can quickly charge the device in a short time, eliminating worries about battery life.

Charging speeds on high-end Android phones have been a point of contention for iPhone users for years. While Apple has always prioritized the balance between performance and battery life, upgrading to 45W charging speeds would be a big step forward, allowing the iPhone to catch up and even surpass its competitors in this area.
