On September 2nd, the Israeli Ministry of Defense announced the successful launch of its latest spy satellite, Ofek 19, from a secret location.
This advanced reconnaissance satellite was manufactured by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), a leading state-owned enterprise in the defense and aerospace technology sector.
In a press release, the Israeli Ministry of Defense stated that Ofek 19 is an observation satellite using advanced synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technology, upgraded with many advanced features.
After entering Earth orbit, the satellite will undergo a series of tests to assess its stability and performance.
In 1988, Israel launched its first reconnaissance satellite, Ofek-1, into space, and it wasn't until 1995 that the country launched its second surveillance satellite into orbit.
These satellites are designed to serve the purposes of surveillance, intelligence gathering, and enhancing military capabilities.
