According to a VNA reporter in Rome, a serious fire broke out on June 2 at a 7-story building under renovation on D'Onofrio Street, Colli Aniene District, Rome, killing one person and injuring at least 17 others.
According to authorities, the fire broke out on the afternoon of June 2 and may have started from a burning car.
Flames from the car ignited several acetylene gas cylinders left at the construction site and led to an explosion that set the building on fire.
The victim of the fire was a 20-year-old man who died of smoke inhalation.
Of the 17 injured people taken to hospital, three are in serious condition.
The fire also forced the evacuation of 100 people living in the building./.
