(NLDO) - Having just won the U18 women's doubles title at the Asia Pickleball Junior Open 2025 last week, Jolie Lam continued to win the women's doubles 4.5+ World Pickleball Championship 2025.

The World Pickleball Championship (WPC) is a series of international tournaments, especially in the Asia- Pacific region. The WPC Asia Pickleball Grand Slam 2025 will take place in Malaysia from July 16 to 20, bringing together more than 1,500 athletes from more than 20 countries and territories.

With a total prize value of nearly 22,000 USD, the tournament is considered an outstanding international playground, aiming to promote the pickleball movement to develop more strongly in Asia.

Jolie Lam is only 17 years old and has been playing pickleball for about 5 months.

In the final of the women's doubles 4.5+ event held on the evening of July 20, young Vietnamese player Jolie Lam (Lien Ngo Chung Thien Lam) won the championship with her teammate Christine Vong (Malaysia). The player born in 2008 showed a solid playing style, rich in technique and especially a strong spirit.

After an unfavorable start with a 12-15 defeat in the first match against the pair Wong Joan - Joseline Tze Qin, Jolie Lam and Christine Vong quickly regained their spirits, winning the next two matches with scores of 15-10 against Ju Bright/Gloria Tan and 15-4 against Eugenia David/Myra Arisa, thereby advancing to the quarterfinals.

After a 15-6 quarter-final win over Patricia Pantangco and Patricia Raymundo (Philippines), Jolie Lam and Christine Vong battled it out in a tense semi-final, narrowly beating Kwan Wun Man (Hong Kong, China) and Yung-Hsin Tseng (Chinese Taipei) 21-20.

In the final, Jolie Lam and Christine Vong showed their strong competitive spirit, defeating two veteran doubles players from the host country, Sieu Ee Toi and Delia Arnold, with a score of 21-18, officially bringing home the prestigious trophy for Vietnamese pickleball.

Notably, this is Jolie Lam's second consecutive prestigious championship in just one week. Previously, at the Asia Pickleball Junior Open 2025 in Quang Nam , the 2008-born player won the U18 women's doubles event.

Jolie Lam is considered the most talented young player in the Vietnamese female pickleball world today. The player born in 2008 stands out with her height of 1.70m and her abundant physical strength thanks to her tennis career.

Having been familiar with tennis since the age of 12, Jolie Lam has made remarkable progress with 3 titles at national youth tournaments in 2024.
