The World Pickleball Championship (WPC) is a series of international tournaments, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. The WPC Asia Pickleball Grand Slam 2025 took place in Malaysia from July 16 to 20, bringing together over 1,500 athletes from more than 20 countries and territories.
With a total prize pool of nearly $22,000, the tournament is considered a prominent international platform aimed at further promoting the development of pickleball in Asia.

Jolie Lam is only 17 years old and has been playing pickleball for about 5 months.
In the women's doubles 4.5+ final held on the evening of July 20th, young Vietnamese player Jolie Lam (Lien Ngo Chung Thien Lam) excellently won the championship with her teammate Christine Vong (Malaysia). The player born in 2008 displayed a solid, technically skilled playing style and, especially, unwavering mental strength.
After a rocky start with a 12-15 loss in their first match against Wong Joan and Joseline Tze Qin, Jolie Lam and Christine Vong quickly recovered, winning their next two matches 15-10 against Ju Bright/Gloria Tan and 15-4 against Eugenia David/Myra Arisa, thus advancing to the quarterfinals.

After a dominant 15-6 victory in the quarterfinals against Patricia Pantangco and Patricia Raymundo (Philippines), Jolie Lam and Christine Vong went through a tense semi-final match, narrowly winning 21-20 against Kwan Wun Man (Hong Kong, China) and Yung-Hsin Tseng (Chinese Taipei).
In the final, Jolie Lam and Christine Vong demonstrated strong competitive spirit, defeating two veteran doubles players from the host country, Sieu Ee Toi and Delia Arnold, with a score of 21-18, officially bringing home the prestigious pickleball trophy for Vietnam.

Notably, this is Jolie Lam's second consecutive prestigious championship in just one week. Previously, at the Asia Pickleball Junior Open 2025 in Quang Nam, the player born in 2008 won the U18 girls' doubles title.
Jolie Lam is considered one of the most promising young talents in Vietnamese women's pickleball today. Born in 2008, the player stands out with her height of 1.70m and abundant physical strength thanks to her previous tennis career.

Having started playing tennis at the age of 12, Jolie Lam has made remarkable progress, winning 3 national junior titles in 2024. Despite only having played pickleball for about 5 months, Jolie Lam has already amassed an impressive collection of titles and is a familiar face on the podium at major pickleball tournaments in Vietnam.
