K-pop's Demon Hunters continues to sweep awards.

Korean-American singer-songwriter EJAE broke down in tears at the Golden Globes when his song "Golden" won Best Song, recalling being rejected by the K-pop industry for 10 years.

According to Variety , K-pop group Demon Hunters won the 2026 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song with their track "Golden." The award was given to songwriters EJAE, Mark Sonnenblick, and Lee Hee Joon.

With tears in her eyes, EJAE shared, "When I was a little girl, I worked tirelessly for 10 years to pursue a single dream - to become a K-pop idol - and I was rejected and disappointed because people said my voice wasn't good enough."

I am so proud to be a part of a song that is helping other girls, other queens, and everyone else overcome challenges to accept themselves."

EJAE dedicated the award to those who had been faced with closed doors, adding, "I can confidently say that rejection is another door for you, so never give up. It's never too late to shine in your own way."

This win comes just a week after the Netflix hit was honored as Best Animated Film and also won Best Song for its number one track on the Golden Chart at the Critics' Choice Awards.

Other nominees for Best Original Song include: Dream as One (from Avatar 3: Fire and Ash ), I Lied to You (from Sinners ), No Place Like Home and The Girl in the Bubble (from Wicked: For Good ), and Train Dreams (from Train Dreams ).

K-pop drama Demon Hunters received a total of three Golden Globe nominations, including Best Animated Film, Cinematic Achievement and Box Office Performance, and Best Original Song for the track "Golden" .

Since its release on Netflix in June, K-pop series Demon Hunters has become the platform's most-watched series of all time, holding the number one spot for several weeks.

Meanwhile, the film's three original songs – Golden, Your Idol , and Soda Pop – consistently charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Last month, the film also garnered three Grammy nominations, including the prestigious Song of the Year nomination for Golden .

Also nominated in the categories of Cinematic Achievement and Box Office Revenue are: Avatar: Fire and Ash, F1: The Movie, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, Sinners, Weapons, Wicked: For Good, and Zootopia 2.

K-pop's Demon Hunters became such a huge phenomenon that Netflix – which wasn't keen on theatrical releases – decided to release a sing-along version of the film in theaters to hold fan events in August and October.

In its opening weekend , K-pop film Demon Hunters topped the box office, raking in approximately $18 million in just two days.

Then, around Halloween, the film went on to gross another $5-6 million, a remarkable figure considering it had been widely released on streaming platforms for months prior.
