Through various activities promoting cultural exchange and friendly cooperation, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of the province contributes to strengthening understanding between the people of the two countries, while also mobilizing resources to serve local development.

According to Nguyen Hung Kiet, Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of An Giang province, under the guidance of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, the association's people-to-people diplomacy activities have achieved many important results. The association also organizes diplomatic protocol activities, diplomatic visits, and sends telegrams and letters of congratulations on important holidays of the Russian people through the Russian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. The association proactively coordinates with the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, the Russian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, and relevant agencies to organize friendship exchanges, art performances, and exhibitions on major holidays of both countries to enhance mutual understanding and trust; creating opportunities for members in An Giang and Russia to connect, meet, and experience each other's cultures.

The Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of the province coordinates the organization of commemorative events and cultural events such as the Vietnam-Russia trade promotion fair; seminars on economic cooperation, education, and climate change response... to promote friendly exchanges and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia. The Association actively expands relations with reputable organizations, individuals, and activists in Russia; actively participates in carrying out work related to Vietnamese people abroad, and encourages overseas Vietnamese studying, working, and living in Russia to invest in economic development and transfer science and technology to build their homeland...

Through various forms of communication and information sharing with Vietnamese expatriates in Russia about the development of the country and the province, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of An Giang province acts as a bridge to introduce and connect activities for exploration and cooperation in the fields of economics, science , technology, and environment between businesses and training schools in An Giang and Russian partners. The Association coordinates the organization of cultural exchanges, culinary events, and trade fairs between Vietnam and Russia to introduce the culture, history, and people of Russia to the people of An Giang and vice versa.

The Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of An Giang province has established good relations with the Russian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, partners, international networks of friends, non-governmental organizations of various countries, businesses, social and humanitarian organizations, and overseas Vietnamese to mobilize aid and funding for the province's development. Through the association's activities, it contributes to expanding the solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between the people of An Giang and the people of Russia, and the effectiveness of its fundraising efforts continues to improve.

Adhering closely to the province's socio-economic development goals, the Provincial Party Committee's action program implementing the resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, and the resolution of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of the province continues to implement its activities, enhancing the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy in the new situation. At the same time, it continues to innovate the content and methods of foreign affairs activities, focusing on depth in developing relations with partners; strengthening people-to-people diplomatic information work, especially through the application of information technology; and implementing programs to promote and mobilize foreign non-governmental aid and cooperation with foreign partners and donors. The Association strives to achieve a mobilization value of 1 billion VND/year for programs and projects developing rural transportation, school equipment, humanitarian activities, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Hung Kiet stated: “In the coming time, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of the province will continue to strengthen people-to-people diplomacy, expanding relations with the people of other countries, especially the people of Russia. The Association will promote aid and sponsorship activities to mobilize and effectively utilize resources for socio-economic development goals. At the same time, it will continue to consolidate, improve, and enhance its operational capacity, develop new members, and build a strong and comprehensive association.”
