Promote community tourism

The western region of Dak Lak province has values ​​and advantages to develop community tourism associated with the diverse cultural identity of the people in the Central Highlands. Buon Don Suspension Bridge Tourism Center - Buon Don Commune (belonging to Biet Dien Tourism and Hotel Branch) is quite famous with tourists from near and far. This is a unique destination in the middle of the jungle with suspension bridges crossing the legendary Serepok River, where the legend of hunting wild elephants and the unique culture of the Ede and M'nong people are preserved.

The first time she set foot in Buon Don Suspension Bridge Tourist Area, Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet (a tourist from Tuyen Quang province) was extremely excited by the wildness of the mountains and forests, many ancient trees and seeing with her own eyes the domesticated wild elephants. The people here are quite friendly and have a diverse culture. In particular, the costumes of the Central Highlands people attracted her to explore and learn with her own eyes.

Deputy Director of the Biet Dien Tourism and Hotel Branch Nguyen Duc said that the unit is currently building services to experience elephants at the Center and explore the unique costumes of the Central Highlands people. Through this, tourists will learn about the wild elephant hunting profession of local people and the unique cultural values ​​of the Ede, M'nong... in the Buon Don area. On the occasion of the upcoming National Day on September 2, the unit will organize a special program to welcome visitors from the eastern part of the province to visit.

The western part of Dak Lak province has left many unique impressions with its agricultural model combined with eco-tourism. Coming to this land, visitors can immerse themselves in the peaceful space among the gardens, lakes, and immense coffee plantations. Attractive local products are introduced and promoted by accommodation establishments to tourists inside and outside the province.

Mr. Tran Van Toan, Director of Phu Nong Buon Don Agricultural - Tourism Cooperative, shared that the Cooperative is building 10 eco-tourism spots around Serepok 3 hydroelectric lake to serve tourists. After the province's merger, the Cooperative surveyed the East - West area to have a plan to connect and build tours and routes between the two coastal and mountainous regions to exploit the potential and advantages to promote the development of agricultural tourism, creating many values ​​for farmers.

Connect island tours

Currently, many programs to stimulate sea tourism are being implemented in the eastern region of Dak Lak province. Tours and tourist routes connecting the Central Highlands to experience the sea and islands are being formed, attracting a large number of tourists to experience and explore. After the merger, Tuy Hoa beach (Tuy Hoa ward, Dak Lak province) is increasingly attracting a large number of tourists to experience, especially those in the western region. Tourists come here not only to immerse themselves in the clear blue water, walk on the smooth white sand but also to express their love for their homeland and country.

Ms. Huynh Thi Thu Thuy (Ea Drang commune, Dak Lak province) shared that after the new province was established, Dak Lak had a sea, so she was very excited to go to Tuy Hoa beach with her family to experience. She was even more proud when the cultural and tourism values ​​between the sea and the mountains were connected. People in the coastal area were full of emotions when welcoming a child of the mountainous homeland like her.

Identifying tourism as a key economic sector, Dak Lak is promoting the image of blue sea, white sand, and golden sunshine combined with the cultural identity of the mountains and forests. The tourism industry is striving to promote the advantages of the land and people here, promising to bring visitors many unique and unforgettable experiences. This is also a journey connecting people from both regions to create solidarity, join hands, and develop together.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, in July 2025, tourism activities in the province had significant development. Being the peak of the summer tourist season, sea and island destinations attracted a large number of visitors. The total number of tourists to the province in July reached 710,000, an increase of 41.2% over the same period in 2024. In particular, international visitors reached 9,000, an increase of 74.3%. Total revenue from tourism activities reached 1,420 billion VND, an increase of 58.4% over the same period. This is a positive signal for the tourism industry after the merger of administrative units.

Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, Tran Hong Tien, said that in the coming time, the Department will integrate the tourism development projects of the two former provinces to implement sustainable development solutions. The province will host a number of major cultural, physical training and sports events in both the Eastern and Western regions; organize activities to stimulate tourism such as building new tours connecting destinations in the province. The Department is working with units, businesses and establishments in each field of tourism development, gradually improving the quality of tourist services. The goal is that when tourists come to Dak Lak, they will experience all the typical cultures of the Central Highlands and the cultural heritage of the South Central Coast.
