This morning (November 28), in Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen province, the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism and the Phu Yen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism jointly organized a conference on tourism development cooperation between Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen.
Phu Yen - Khanh Hoa Tourism Cooperation Conference
At the conference, Mr. Le Huu Hoang, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, acknowledged that both Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces possess abundant natural and human resources; both provinces have unique tourism products characteristic of each locality, complementing each other to promote tourism development. Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen are very close to each other, only about 120km apart by road. This is very convenient for coordinating the construction and exploitation of tourism activities between the two localities. In particular, Phu Yen province has the advantage of rich folk culture, customs and traditions, and many beautiful landscapes that are not found elsewhere.
Over the years, leveraging the advantages and potential of each locality, the tourism sectors of the two provinces have initially focused on cooperation and linkage, yielding encouraging results such as: supporting each other in bringing tourists to visit and stay; connecting and developing joint tourism programs between the two localities, contributing to enriching and diversifying tourism products to introduce to domestic and international tourists. However, the effectiveness has not been high enough and is not commensurate with the potential and conditions of the two provinces.

At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Phi Hong Nguyen, Vice Chairman of the Travel and Tourism Branch of the Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, proposed opening a 5-day, 4-night Khanh Hoa - Phu Yen tour not only for domestic but also international tourists. According to the proposal, tourists would fly to Cam Ranh airport, spend the first two days visiting scenic spots in Khanh Hoa province, and on the third day, travel to Phu Yen for sightseeing and relaxation. On the fifth day, they would be dropped off at Dong Tac airport. Mr. Nguyen noted that Phu Yen has many famous tourist destinations that visitors want to see, such as Ganh Da Dia, Mang Lang Church, Nghinh Phong Square, Hon Yen, Mui Dien, Hon Nua, etc. "We are pioneering this tour, so we hope for the support of local authorities to ensure the success of our cooperation program," Mr. Nguyen said.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen province, this promotional activity revolves around specific contents such as surveying tourist destinations in Phu Yen; exchanging and discussing solutions to connect tourism products to form inter-regional tourism routes in the South Central coastal region; sharing tourism information to promote the development of tourist sources, diversify tourism products, and create unique tourism products; and forming joint tours with the distinctive features of each locality to build a common brand for the two provinces.

Here, leaders of the People's Committees of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces; the Tourism Promotion Center and the Tourism Association; airlines and businesses operating in the tourism sector of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces will have the opportunity to frankly exchange views on achievements and shortcomings of both sides so that the two localities can support each other and develop the tourism industry.
Mr. Dao My, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Yen province, requested the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to urgently develop a plan to implement tourism cooperation and development in line with the new situation in the coming period. He called for investment, upgrading and developing new high-end, high-quality tourism products in each locality, thereby developing integrated tourism products between Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa provinces to suit both international and domestic tourist markets. "Conduct surveys to develop tour programs connecting Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen; coordinate the development of attractive policies and promotions to stimulate domestic tourism, specifically encouraging people from Khanh Hoa province to visit Phu Yen and vice versa," Mr. My suggested.
