With the largest scale ever, nearly 124,000 non-specialized candidates and nearly 17,000 specialized candidates taking the exam, the success of the exam is the result of thorough preparation, synchronized coordination of all levels, sectors, and localities, and the high sense of responsibility of tens of thousands of officials, teachers, and support staff.
Thorough preparation from the start, tight organization at every stage.
The entrance exam for 10th grade in non-specialized public high schools for the 2026-2027 school year is considered the largest-scale exam ever held in Hanoi.

The city arranged 224 examination centers with more than 5,300 examination rooms; mobilizing approximately 18,000 officials, teachers, and staff to participate in organizing the exams. The entrance exam for specialized 10th-grade classes alone was held at 27 examination centers with more than 700 examination rooms.
The large scale and high competitive pressure, with only over 60% of junior high school graduates having the opportunity to attend public high schools, mean that preparations for the exam begin very early. From infrastructure and personnel to security and safety plans, as well as healthcare , electricity, and transportation, everything is developed according to various scenarios to proactively respond to any unforeseen situation.
At the examination sites, the regulations were strictly enforced throughout the duration of the exam. Invigilators were assigned according to the principle of cross-district rotation; each examination room had two invigilators from two different units. Inspection and supervision were intensified with over 600 inspectors from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training on duty both permanently and on a mobile basis at the examination sites.
While supervising the exam at Dich Vong Secondary School (Cau Giay Ward), teacher Tran Thi Na said that the most important thing emphasized to the invigilators was not only to thoroughly understand the regulations but also to handle all situations with a high sense of responsibility, putting the legitimate interests of the students first. According to her, a serious exam does not mean creating pressure on the candidates. The important thing is to maintain discipline in the exam room while helping students feel calm and confident so they can perform to their full potential.
This spirit has also been consistently emphasized by Hanoi's education leaders at all examination centers. Supervisors and invigilators are required to strictly adhere to regulations, enhance their professional skills, and absolutely avoid complacency at any stage. Simultaneously, they are tasked with creating a friendly examination environment and minimizing unnecessary stress for students.
As the head of the examination center at Nguyen Du Secondary School (Hoan Kiem Ward), Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Thu believes that the success of an exam is not only judged by ensuring compliance with regulations but also by the smooth coordination among all participating forces. For the head of the examination center, the greatest responsibility is to organize and manage the work scientifically, anticipate potential situations, and ensure that all members understand their assigned tasks. When each stage is meticulously prepared and implemented seriously, the exam will proceed smoothly and safely, creating the best conditions for the candidates.
The seriousness of the exam was also demonstrated through the proper handling of violations. Throughout the exam, the city recorded 4 candidates who violated the rules by bringing mobile phones into the examination room. All cases were documented and handled according to regulations, contributing to ensuring the fairness and integrity of the exam.
Working together to support the contestants.
Besides the professional aspects, a prominent highlight of this year's exam is the coordinated involvement of the entire political system to create the most favorable conditions for students and parents.

According to observations at the examination sites, police, inspectors, medical personnel, electricity company staff, youth union members, and local authorities were all mobilized to serve the exam. Plans to ensure security, safety, traffic management, fire prevention, power supply, healthcare, and response to extreme weather conditions were implemented comprehensively.
The Education sector is working closely with the city's police force to ensure security throughout the entire process, from printing and transporting exam papers to storing answer sheets and organizing invigilation. Authorities are also proactively monitoring and handling situations related to cybersecurity, misinformation, or violations of regulations.
Amidst the prolonged hot weather, local authorities have set up waiting areas for parents with shelters, fans, drinking water, and support staff.
Mr. Tran Minh Tuan, whose child was taking the exam at Thach Ban Secondary School (Long Bien ward), shared that the constant presence of police officers, volunteer youth, and officials on duty helped parents feel more secure throughout the exam period. According to him, from traffic management and security at the school gate to assisting parents at waiting areas, everything was well-organized, creating favorable conditions for the candidates. This demonstrates the city's concern and responsibility in ensuring a safe, serious, and fair exam for students.
Familiar scenes of the exam season continue to appear at this year's examination sites. From early morning, teams of young volunteers were present to guide candidates, distribute drinking water, assist parents, and coordinate in maintaining order around the school gates.
Le Thi Mai Lan, a student from the Banking Academy who participated in volunteer work at the Nguyen Trai High School exam site, said that the volunteers understood that besides providing material support, the more important thing was to help candidates feel encouraged and supported. Many candidates entered the exam under considerable pressure, so just a word of encouragement or thoughtful guidance could help them feel more confident before taking the test.

In addition to psychological support, healthcare for exam candidates has also been meticulously prepared. According to Ms. Dinh Thi Lan, a medical staff member at Nguyen Du Secondary School (Hoan Kiem Ward), even before the exam, the medical department reviewed facilities, prepared sufficient medicines and medical supplies, and coordinated with the Hoan Kiem Ward Health Station to check environmental hygiene and water sources.
According to Ms. Lan, common situations during exam season include fatigue, stomach aches, sunstroke, or heatstroke. Therefore, contingency plans are prepared. For cases requiring more specialized support, the exam centers have established a coordination mechanism with local medical facilities to ensure candidates receive timely care.
The humane aspect of the exam was also clearly demonstrated through the support provided to candidates with special circumstances or health problems. According to information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, there were 5 cases requiring medical assistance at the examination centers. The examination boards closely coordinated with medical personnel to ensure the students' rights were protected and to help them complete the exam according to regulations.
As the exams concluded, in addition to ensuring strict adherence to regulations, the image of various forces working together to support the candidates also left a strong impression. The thorough preparation and sense of responsibility of the units contributed to helping students confidently and calmly complete their exams.
According to the plan, the grading committee for the entrance exam to 10th grade in Hanoi's public high schools will begin its work on June 2nd. The results of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year are expected to be announced between June 19th and June 22nd, 2026.
