DNO - On the afternoon of December 16th, the Da Nang Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation Works (the investor of the Western Ring Road) announced that it is mobilizing machinery and personnel to address the landslide incident on the route.
Accordingly, heavy rains over the past few days have caused landslides on the road section passing through Hoa Tho village, Hoa Phu commune, Hoa Vang district; soil, rocks, and mud have spilled onto the road surface.

Specifically, a landslide extending nearly 100 meters occurred on the embankment at the scene. Soil, rocks, and mud, carried out by heavy rain, slid down and buried the drainage system and one lane of the road on the right side, causing traffic congestion.
The embankment slope in the area was reinforced with gabions to prevent landslides and had drainage ditches, but heavy rains caused water to overflow the ditches, bringing mud and soil down and burying the road.
Leaders from the Da Nang City People's Committee, the Department of Transportation, and the Da Nang Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation Projects were present at the scene to inspect and directly supervise the remediation efforts.

According to the Da Nang Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, immediately after the incident occurred, the unit implemented a plan to reroute and regulate traffic flow through the area to ensure the safety of passing vehicles.
The road clearing and reopening are expected to be completed by the end of December 16th.
