On the afternoon of April 13th, after refueling at the Duong Dong Petro gas station (Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City), many customers' vehicles broke down. Some people went to nearby repair shops and discovered that the gasoline contained water.
Immediately, dozens of people returned to the gas station demanding adequate compensation. Among them, one hot-tempered customer assaulted the gas station manager. The store staff called the local police to maintain order and security.

Water from the afternoon rain on April 13th flooded the gas station, causing many vehicles to break down.
At 4:30 PM, Ms. Le Thi Tuyet Mai rode her Honda Lead to a gas station to fill up with 80,000 VND worth of A92 gasoline. After traveling about 50 meters, the engine stopped working. Ms. Mai had to walk to a repair shop, paying 500,000 VND for cleaning and adjusting the fuel tank.

The upgraded Luỹ Bán Bích road blocked the water drainage route from the gas station's manhole through the sewer pipe, causing an incident on the afternoon of April 13th.
Ms. Mai recounted: “After returning to the gas station, I witnessed dozens of people waiting for the gas station staff to resolve the issue. That same afternoon, the gas station owner fully refunded me the money for the gasoline and car repairs.”
A representative from the gas station stated that during the night, employees siphoned off all the water-contaminated gasoline and transported it to a storage facility for processing. Currently, the gas station's operations have returned to normal, with initial estimated damages exceeding 300 million VND.

The gas station has reimbursed the bills of 40 customers.
Ms. Tran Thuy Thuy Tram, Deputy Director of Doan Viet Company – the investing unit – said that over 40 customers have received full compensation for their losses from the gas station, along with an apology. Compensation for damaged cars has not yet been provided, but it will be fully resolved in the coming days.
According to Ms. Tram, the cause of the incident was that the upgraded Luu Ban Bich road had blocked the drainage from the manhole of the gas station to the general sewer system. The heavy rain on the afternoon of April 13th caused water to accumulate and then overflow into the fuel storage tanks!

The gas station resumed normal operations this morning (April 14).
“This afternoon (April 14th) we will submit a petition to the urban management department and the Tan Phu District People's Committee to request a resolution. Our next step is to sue the construction company,” Ms. Tram informed.
