TPO - Many international tourists, after seeing photos of Quang Phu Cau incense village in Ung Hoa district on social media, immediately flew to Hanoi just to get an impressive photo there.

Sarah (29 years old, a Danish woman of Iraqi descent) said that while browsing Instagram, she accidentally came across a video about the Quang Phu Cau incense village, so she decided to spend 5 days traveling to Vietnam. Of that time, Sarah dedicated one day to visiting Quang Phu Cau to learn about and experience the incense-making process of this traditional craft village.

Tourist Abraham (64 years old, India) also expressed: “Your homeland is so charming and beautiful, especially this autumn. When I sent pictures of Quang Phu Cau incense village to my friends and relatives, they exclaimed that they would fly to Hanoi that very night to visit this incense village the next day.”

Not only is it attractive to international tourists, the Quang Phu Cau incense village has also become the research project of a group of K17 students majoring in multimedia communication at FPT University.

Speaking to a reporter from Tien Phong newspaper , Mr. Nguyen Van Ban (69 years old) - the owner of a long-standing incense-making household in the village, and also the ticket seller and photographer for tourists at the Quang Phu Cau village communal house - said: Since the beginning of 2023, when Ung Hoa district inaugurated the Quang Phu Cau incense-making village tourist destination, the number of international tourists visiting here has been steadily increasing.

According to Mr. Ban, while Indian tourists accounted for 70% of the total international visitors to the village in 2023, this year that number has shifted to tourists from Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia, among others.

According to our survey, the current entrance fee to tourist attractions in Quang Phu Cau incense village is 50,000 VND per person (2 USD). A bundle of 20 incense sticks costs over 12,000 VND (0.5 USD).

The distance from the center of Hanoi to Quang Phu Cau village is over 30km, so visitors can travel there by taxi or motorbike. Taxi fares range from 300,000 to 350,000 VND per trip, equivalent to 13-15 USD.

From autumn to winter is the peak season for tourists visiting Quang Phu Cau village, as this is when the North experiences less rain and the weather is sunny and beautiful, ideal for drying incense sticks. Therefore, tourists can capture many impressive photos during this time.
