A British tourist says he was nearly burned alive in his hotel room when he was electrocuted through metal dental fillings in his mouth.
The incident happened last January when Steve Ellis (42 years old) had a 10-day vacation at the 5-star Coral Sea Imperial Sensatori hotel in Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) and encountered a serious problem.
The guest touched the bedside lamp and was suddenly thrown to the floor because the lamp had an electrical leak.

According to Steve, although the electric current only passed through his body for about 15 seconds, doctors said the guest "almost burned alive" due to the electricity passing through the metal fillings in his mouth.
"I had some fillings so the electricity went straight into my mouth. It burned my mouth," he said.
Luckily, he managed to pull his hand away from the lamp and escaped death. However, the guest said that if a child had accidentally touched the lamp, he might not have survived.
It is known that the incident happened when the guest just got out of bed and touched the night light with his left hand, causing him to be immediately electrocuted.
His left hand was stuck to the lamp and he had to try to free it with his right hand. In a panic and electric shock, the guest was thrown out of bed and cried for help while alone in the room.
He was then given a preliminary examination by a hotel doctor. The guest also sought out a hotel representative to report the incident. However, according to Steve, the representative was indifferent and uncooperative.
"We asked for a report of the incident, but they questioned the reason. They even turned to my girlfriend and told her to lie that she witnessed the incident, even though she wasn't there at the time. No one can lie because it's easy to get into legal trouble," Steve said indignantly.

It is understood that the guest had never used the night light before the accident. After being shocked, he noticed that there were a few wires exposed from the light.
According to him, if you don't look closely, you won't notice anything unusual. It's only when an accident happens that you observe closely that you notice it.
The 10-day trip turned into a nightmare. Steve suffered circular burns around his mouth. He had to undergo blood tests and an electrocardiogram (ECG) to check his heart's functioning after the accident.
The passenger now feels burning and tingling months after the incident. In early May, he decided to go public with his experience on the trip.
"My shoulder hurts so much that every time I lift something, it hurts so much. I can't stand it after working for half a day. I'm losing income because I often have to leave work early or take the whole day off," he said.
The tour operator for the British tourist has not yet commented on the incident.
