Opening Ceremony of the "Summer Book Program" 2026

(GLO) - On May 29th, Pleiku Library, in coordination with the People's Committees of Pleiku, Dien Hong, Thong Nhat, and Hoi Phu wards (Gia Lai province), organized the opening ceremony of the "Summer Book Program" 2026 with the theme "Happy, Safe, and Steadfast Children in the Digital Age".

In her opening remarks, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, Director of Pleiku Library, stated that books are always valuable companions for everyone, especially children – a time when character is being formed, dreams are being nurtured, and knowledge is being developed.

In today's era of rapid digital technology development, building reading habits, developing safe information access skills, and using technology appropriately are becoming increasingly essential.

Through the "Summer Book Program," the Organizing Committee aims to create a beneficial, healthy, and educational playground for children during the summer; contributing to fostering a love of reading, developing life skills and safe digital skills; and at the same time, helping children have more opportunities to interact, learn, and develop comprehensively.

At the opening ceremony, the children were introduced to the book "Summer of Childhood" by author Nguyen Thi Chau Giang. This is a book rich in emotion, close to the lives of children, contributing to nurturing their souls, sowing seeds of compassion, and inspiring aspirations for self-improvement in each child.

In addition, the children also participated in interactive activities and quizzes with prizes, creating a lively atmosphere and spreading a reading culture.
