After 12 years of organization, the Ciputra Hanoi - Yonex Sunrise International Badminton Tournament has become a professional and prestigious badminton tournament, highly appreciated by the World Badminton Federation and the Asian Badminton Federation, attracting the attention of many world-class athletes.

The tournament is officially part of the competition and scoring system of the Badminton World Federation. The tournament is run by referees who meet international standards, ensuring the quality of the tournament. Through the tournament, Vietnamese and international athletes have the opportunity to compete, gain experience and accumulate points, preparing for higher goals.

This year, the tournament attracted 309 athletes from 17 countries and territories. The athletes competed in 5 events: Men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

Vietnam's representatives attending Ciputra Hanoi 2023 include Nguyen Tien Minh, Le Duc Phat, Nguyen Hai Dang (men's singles), Nguyen Thuy Linh, Vu Thi Anh Thu, Vu Thi Trang (women's singles), Dinh Thi Phuong Hong - Pham Thi Khanh (women's doubles)... but only 1 person is ranked in the seed group, that is Nguyen Thuy Linh - seed number 2 in women's singles.

In the opening match of the Ciputra Hanoi - Yonex Sunrise 2023 international badminton tournament, Vietnam's No. 1 female tennis player Nguyen Thuy Linh (ranked 40th in the world according to the latest rankings of the Badminton World Federation) met 18-year-old young tennis player Wang Yu Si (Chinese Taipei, ranked 202nd in the world). Nguyen Thuy Linh had a 2-1 overall victory (21-12, 19-21, 21-19), and won the right to enter the round of 16.

In the previous match, Vu Thi Trang (ranked 115th in the world) unfortunately lost to No. 1 seed Kim Yu Jin (Korea, ranked 41st in the world).

The Ciputra Hanoi International Badminton Tournament 2023 takes place at Tay Ho Stadium - Hanoi from March 21 to March 26. With a total prize money of 15,000 USD, the champion will receive 1,200 USD in both singles and doubles; the runner-up will receive 720 USD, the third-place player will receive 300 USD and the quarter-finalist will receive 120 USD.
