Billiards: Genius Caudron launches a big series, spectacularly defeats Dutch master

Genius Frederic Caudron continued to show his best form, winning convincingly against his Dutch opponent, in the round of 16 match of the Porto 2025 billiards World Cup.

The round of 16 knockout matches of the Porto 2025 Billiards World Cup will take place from the evening of July 4. Frederic Caudron will take the field in the first match, facing Dutch player Glenn Hofman. Right in the first turn after the break (turn 9), the Belgian genius had another 7-point series to increase the gap to 23 points, leading 33-10 against Hofman. The Dutch player accelerated in the final stretch, including a 9-point series, to reduce the gap to 22-39.

But in the end, Frederic Caudron still won 50-40, after 20 turns. The Belgian player achieved a fairly high average efficiency of 2.5 (points/turn). Caudron is the first face to enter the quarter-finals of the Porto 2025 Billiards World Cup.

In the same match, Cho Myung-woo defeated Tolgahan Kiraz with a score of 50-35. Eddy Merckx defeated Peter Ceulemans 50-46. Gokhan Salman defeated Berkay Karakurt 50-43.

In the quarter-finals of the 2025 Porto Billiards World Cup, Caudron will meet Gokhan Salman, while Eddy Merckx will face Cho Myung-woo.
