Dinh Phuong Thanh's overwhelming gold medal win.
On the afternoon of December 12th, Dinh Phuong Thanh achieved a resounding victory in the parallel bars final. He won the gold medal with a very high score of 12.900, far ahead of the runner-up, Yudha Tri Wira (Indonesia), by 300 points.
This outstanding achievement by the young man born in 1995 not only helped Vietnamese gymnastics win its third gold medal, but also allowed him to reach another significant milestone, affirming his special place in the history of Vietnamese sports at the SEA Games.
Specifically, Dinh Phuong Thanh has equaled the record of 14 SEA Games gold medals held by his senior, Nguyen Thi Huyen, making him the most successful Vietnamese athlete in the history of participating in the Southeast Asian Games.

Furthermore, Dinh Phuong Thanh also set a very difficult-to-break record by winning gold medals in 6 consecutive SEA Games. This demonstrates the class, resilience, and endurance of this golden boy of Vietnamese gymnastics.
Notably, while Nguyen Thi Huyen has retired, Dinh Phuong Thanh still has the opportunity to improve his record. At 30 years old, the golden boy of Vietnamese gymnastics still retains the same desire to contribute as he did at the beginning.
Also on December 12th, Dinh Phuong Thanh won another bronze medal in the horizontal bar event. This is Dinh Phuong Thanh's fourth bronze medal at the SEA Games, far fewer than the number of gold medals he has brought home for Vietnamese sports.
