On the morning of August 9, at Bac Me District Stadium, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with Bac Me District to organize the 2024 Ha Giang Province Traditional Ethnic Sports Competition.

The tournament has more than 180 athletes from 7 units, including districts: Bac Me; Quan Ba; Yen Minh; Dong Van; Meo Vac; Bac Quang; Quang Binh, with 5 teams from Bac Me district. The units will compete in traditional ethnic sports such as: Stick pushing, throwing, tug of war, crossbow shooting.

This is an activity to concretize the Party and State's policy on economic , cultural and social development for ethnic minorities; continue to implement the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", contributing to improving health, cultural and spiritual life to preserve, exploit and develop ethnic sports, folk games, and promote traditional cultural values.

According to the plan, the tournament will take place over 3 days from August 9 to 11. The tournament is an opportunity for athletes in the province to exchange training and competition experiences, and is also an opportunity to select excellent athletes with high achievements to form a provincial team to participate in the 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival in Lang Son province in November 2024.
