On April 15th, the 5th Can Tho City Book Fair, themed "Books - Knowledge - Aspiration for National Development," opened at Tao Dan Park (Ninh Kieu Ward).
More than 20 booths from units operating in the fields of publishing, printing, book distribution, and companies operating in the fields of culture, media, and education participated.
The book fair aims to introduce and promote the image of the people of Can Tho and the history and culture of Southern Vietnam. At the same time, it attracts tourists and readers from both within and outside the country, contributing to honoring the value and affirming the role, position, and importance of books in social life.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Le Minh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, said that the highlight of the book fair is the series of "author-work" interactions and thematic talks.
Launching the 2026 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest, donating books to collaborative libraries, and conducting used book exchange activities with the "Zero-Cost Books" model "SKD 2026".
The book fair includes activities such as: displaying and exhibiting new books and stationery; introducing educational activities; and showcasing rare and valuable book collections from organizations and private collectors inside and outside the city.
In addition, the exhibition also showcases and introduces digital library equipment and technology; library management software; and STEM.
The exhibition "Southern Vietnam" features 120 valuable documentary images that vividly recreate a picture of old Southern Vietnam – a dynamic, open land where indigenous traditions intersected with new influences in a historical context.
The 5th Can Tho City Book Fair took place from April 15th to 21st. Visitors to the book fair received free parking and participated in a lucky draw.
