In his opening speech, Mr. Tran Hieu Hung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau, said that the Southern Traditional Cake Festival - Ca Mau 2021 aims to encourage creative efforts, promote the improvement of traditional cake processing and production techniques of artisans, turn traditional cakes into Southern specialties, and create conditions to gradually expand the local traditional cake market.

The festival takes place over 5 days (from April 20-25), with more than 100 booths of traditional cakes, street food, cuisine, OCOP products, introducing local products of Ca Mau and other provinces in the Southern region.
Along with many activities: folk cake and street food performances; folk cake contest; nightly art programs serving tourists and people of Ca Mau.
In particular, on this occasion, Ca Mau province selected 9 trays of traditional cakes to offer to the Hung Kings at the Hung Kings Temple, Thoi Binh district, on the 10th day of the third lunar month, to commemorate the merits of the person who founded the foundation for the Vietnamese people, and at the same time contribute to educating the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source".
The opening ceremony also featured a performance of Ao Dai and Ao Ba Ba collection by designer Hue Thi on the background music of zither artist Truong Tai Linh, along with more than 20 models from Hue Thi Trading Company Limited; especially with the participation of World Supermodel runner-up H'Ang Nie.

Visitors can also visit and enjoy more than 100 types of cakes and local products./.
