Opening of the photo exhibition commemorating the Great Victory of Spring 1975.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), on the afternoon of April 27, at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (District 1), the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and other units, organized the opening of a photo exhibition with the themes "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 and the New Era of Development of the Vietnamese Nation" and "Proud of a Border Region".

The delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the exhibition.

Attending the opening ceremony of the exhibition were Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Nguyen Trong Nghia; leaders of central ministries and agencies and Ho Chi Minh City.

The exhibition is displayed at three locations: Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Nguyen Du - Dong Khoi Street, and opposite Chi Lang Park (District 1).

At Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, the organizers displayed more than 200 images with the themes "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 and the New Era of Development for the Vietnamese Nation" and "Proud of a Border Region".

Specifically, the 95 images depict the long, arduous, and unwavering struggle of our army and people during the resistance war against the US and the Spring Offensive of 1975. After 50 years, Ho Chi Minh City has increasingly affirmed its role as a special urban center, a major hub for economy , culture, education and training, science and technology; a pioneering city, ready to join the whole country in entering a new era, an era of national progress for Vietnam.

At the same time, this area also displays 150 outstanding and representative works from the 3rd "Proud of a Border Region" art photography competition organized by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Central Foreign Affairs Department, and other units.

At the intersection of Nguyen Du and Dong Khoi streets (in front of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports), the organizers are displaying 70 images with the theme "The Working Class - The Driving Force in the National Liberation Struggle and the Building of a Sustainable Developed Country". The exhibition highlights the image of workers, civil servants, and laborers in Ho Chi Minh City who "dare to think, dare to act" in production with a dynamic, self-reliant, pioneering spirit in various fields, actively studying and researching science , etc., in the new era.

In addition, 55 images displayed in the area opposite Chi Lang Park are themed "Ho Chi Minh City - 50 Years of Glorious Reign." These images aim to recreate famous architectural works that have survived through many historical ups and downs. Along with structures that have significantly impacted people's lives, iconic economic landmarks, the location of Ho Chi Minh City's first Metro line, and new urban areas… All of these have completely transformed the face of Ho Chi Minh City, turning it into a modern, dynamic metropolis of the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, emphasized that the Great Victory of Spring 1975 was a momentous historical milestone, successfully ending the long and arduous resistance war against the US, ushering the country into an era of independence, unity, and development. Fifty years after the Great Victory of Spring, Ho Chi Minh City – the city proudly bearing the name of President Ho Chi Minh – continues to grow stronger, upholding the revolutionary spirit, dynamism, and creativity; constantly striving to overcome many difficulties and challenges to achieve proud accomplishments.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, the exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country is a special occasion to pay tribute to previous generations, to awaken the patriotic spirit and the will to strive for progress in the new era; and to contribute to inspiring and encouraging the younger generation to continue the proud national tradition and build a prosperous country.

Among them, the artistic photographs with the theme "Proud of a Border Region" are meticulously crafted, reflecting the theme with great dedication and creativity, conveying authentic and emotionally rich images that vividly portray the beauty of Vietnam's homeland and people. These works also contribute to spreading the message of humble yet noble examples, honoring the forces that are tirelessly protecting the borders and national sovereignty; highlighting the glorious 80-year tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army.

The exhibition runs until May 5, 2025.
