Opening of the 28th North Central Fine Arts Exhibition

Attending the exhibition were Ms. Mai Thi Ngoc Oanh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Hoang Khanh Hung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Mr. Vo Le Nhat, Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, along with representatives of departments, branches, and sectors, representatives of the Fine Arts Associations of 6 provinces in the North Central region, along with many artists and art lovers.

The North Central Fine Arts Exhibition is organized to arouse and promote the creative potential of artists, members, and collaborators in the fine arts industry; create conditions for the widespread development of fine arts activities; through fine arts works, reflect the good traditional cultural values, the socio -economic achievements of the homeland and the country. Thereby, creating spiritual and cultural values ​​imbued with national cultural identity.

The exhibition displays 157 works by 137 authors from Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh , Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue. Through the exhibition, the works partly express the whole picture of the energetic and passionate creative work of painters and sculptors.

Speaking at the exhibition, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Organizing Committee, the contributions of the painters and sculptors. At the same time, he thanked the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, the Literature and Arts Association of the North Central provinces and the painters and sculptors for joining Thua Thien Hue province, the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Thua Thien Hue to create an Exhibition bearing the mark of a cultural land, contributing to helping Thua Thien Hue province promote the propaganda and promotion of the ancient capital of Hue, the heritage city, the festival city, the ASEAN cultural city to the domestic and international public.

In particular, this is even more meaningful when the leaders and all people of Thua Thien Hue province are determined to successfully implement Resolution 54 of the Politburo to build the province into a centrally-run city on the basis of preserving and promoting the heritage values ​​of the ancient capital of Hue and Hue cultural identity.

At the opening ceremony, the Vietnam Fine Arts Association awarded prizes to 9 outstanding works, with 6 consolation prizes, 1 C prize and 2 B prizes.

The two works that won second prize at the exhibition were "Vi vu" (acrylic painting) by artist Hoang Thanh Phong (Thua Thien Hue province) and "Nhip song moi" (paper carving) by artist Nguyen Dinh Truyen (Nghe An province).
