Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh affirmed that the conference had achieved many remarkable results, demonstrating the spirit of cooperation and experience sharing in the work of preserving and promoting heritage values ​​associated with improving the quality of life of the people.

“With the theme “Improving the quality of life for the sustainable development of World Heritage Cities”, the conference is not only an opportunity to exchange and share experiences, but also an opportunity to lay the foundation for specific cooperation projects in the future”, Mr. Binh emphasized.

According to Mr. Binh, the discussions and topics at the conference brought many valuable lessons, helping heritage cities in the region find new directions in conservation, climate change response, digital transformation and sustainable tourism development. In particular, the delegates shared the spirit of "preserving the past to create the future" - a strategic goal that Hue, as the first World Heritage City of Vietnam, has always steadfastly pursued.

Within the framework of the conference, Hue City organized many cultural activities and exchange programs between cities, leaving a deep impression on domestic and international delegates. Representative of the World Heritage Cities Organization, Mr. Mikhael de Thyse, Secretary General of OWHC, highly appreciated Hue's proactive role in organizing the conference, and emphasized the importance of the spirit of regional cooperation.

“The challenges facing heritage cities are not isolated stories. We can only overcome them by working together, sharing experiences and working towards common goals,” he said.

At the end of the conference, the OWHC announced that Andong City (South Korea) will be the host of the 6th OWHC-AP Regional Conference in 2027.

The three-day conference in Hue not only helped heritage cities in the region strengthen relations, but also once again affirmed Hue's pioneering role in connecting, preserving and promoting heritage values ​​for a sustainable future.
