In the period of 2020-2025, with the help of central ministries, departments and branches, especially the Ministry of Public Security , the Ministry of Planning and Investment (now the Ministry of Finance), the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, some provinces such as Hung Yen, Dong Nai... and through programs and projects implemented in Son La province, the province has supported the construction and repair of 12,667 temporary and dilapidated houses with a total budget of more than 628 billion VND (of which, socialized sources are more than 443 billion VND; state budget is more than 185 billion VND), contributing significantly to stabilizing the lives of households with housing difficulties.

However, in 2025, due to the impact of natural disasters, many localities in Son La province suffered heavy losses in human lives and property. Currently, the province is continuing to direct communes and wards to review houses damaged by floods, temporary houses, and newly-emerged dilapidated houses in the area to develop a plan to implement support.
Regarding the implementation of the National Target Program 1719 in 2025, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has guided the provincial departments, branches, and People's Committees of communes and wards to implement after the arrangement and organization of the 2-level local government. Regarding the central budget capital, more than 1,302 billion VND/1,444 billion VND has been allocated in detail. Of which, the development investment capital has been allocated in detail at more than 734 billion VND, reaching 83.7% of the assigned capital plan; the career capital has been allocated in detail at more than 567 billion VND, reaching 100% of the assigned plan.

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested communes and wards to review and assess the need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses arising by October 10, 2025, ensuring accuracy, objectivity and targeting the right subjects. After reviewing and implementing the data appraisal before October 30, 2025, then focus on implementing the temporary house elimination campaign, striving to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for newly arising households by December 31, 2025. Communes and wards should speed up the disbursement and allocation of capital for the National Target Program 1719; promptly report difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process for timely consideration and resolution.
