On the morning of May 30, 5 children's football teams in the northern region competed at the Thai Binh Provincial Multi-Purpose Gymnasium. This is an important sporting event of the year exclusively for the U19 age group, with the sponsorship of the Nestlé Milo milk brand.

The qualifying round for the northern region was jointly organized by the Young Pioneers and Children's Newspaper, the Vietnam Football Federation, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Binh province.
This is an annual tournament held in the national football competition system to create a playground for young players to have the opportunity to exchange, learn and practice football skills, on that basis to discover, foster and nurture talents for the country's football.
From this playground, many young talents of Vietnamese football were discovered, selected and fostered to become professional football players and many players are currently the mainstays of the national team.

Participating in the tournament, there are 19 teams divided into 4 groups, competing in a round-robin competition for ranking points in each group. Teams compete from May 30 to June 5.
Right after the opening ceremony, the host Vietcombank Thai Binh went to the field to play and beat U11 Yen Bai with a score of 4-1.
Along with the regional group stage held in Thai Binh province, the tournament was also held in Quang Nam and Tay Ninh with a total of 50 participating teams. The final round will be held in Dak Lak province.
