Free medical examinations and treatment for thousands of people in Soc Trang.

On July 11th, in My Xuyen town, My Xuyen district (Soc Trang province), the MEMO (Medical, Educational Missions & Outreach) organization, the Soc Trang Doctors' Club in Ho Chi Minh City, Soc Trang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, and Ho Chi Minh City Dental and Maxillofacial Hospital organized free medical examinations, treatment, and medication distribution for thousands of disadvantaged people in My Xuyen district.

The medical team provided free medical examinations, treatment, and medication to the people in My Xuyen District (Soc Trang Province).

According to Dr. Tran Thanh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Soc Trang Department of Health , 158 medical staff participated in the charity program over four days (July 11-14). Among them, the MEMO organization, comprising 29 doctors and 58 volunteer students from universities in California (USA), collaborated with Vietnamese doctors to provide internal medicine examinations and distribute medicine to approximately 3,000 people.

In addition, the program included ultrasound screening for congenital heart defects in 200 children and general dental check-ups for approximately 1,000 people. The total cost of the medical examinations sponsored by MEMO was over 700 million VND. Furthermore, MEMO donated 1,000 pairs of eyeglasses, 20 blood pressure monitors, 20 blood glucose meters, 5 blood lipid meters, 3,000 blood glucose test strips, and 3,000 blood lipid test strips.

It is known that, in addition to providing free medical examinations and medicine to poor people in My Xuyen District (Soc Trang), MEMO also donated over $60,000, worth more than 1.5 billion VND, to VinaCapital Foundation and Cardiac Life Foundation to perform heart surgery for poor children nationwide.

The medical team provided free medical examinations for the local people.

Dr. Le Da Lu, a member of MEMO, shared: "This is the first time I've participated in this medical mission, so I'm very happy and grateful to be able to help the poor people in the area. My colleagues and I are doing our best to bring joy to the people."
