The first "Stories from the Financial Advisor Profession" competition was organized by the Vietnam Financial Advisors Community (VWA) with media sponsorship from Investment Newspaper.

FINANCIAL ADVISOR CAREER STORY CONTEST

Behind every success are thousands of hours of tireless work and countless arduous challenges. From moments of pride in helping clients overcome financial difficulties to feelings of regret over unsuccessful decisions, each person and each story leaves a unique mark.

The first-ever "Stories from the Financial Advisor Profession" contest, organized by the Vietnam Financial Advisors Community (VWA) in collaboration with JB Securities Vietnam (JBSV) and with media sponsorship from Investment Newspaper , aims to open the door to discovering emotional stories and connecting the passions of those in the same profession. Behind the numbers and charts lies a story of relentless effort and perseverance. These are experiences and lessons learned – invaluable pieces on the journey towards raising financial literacy! Each participant brings their own unique emotions, beliefs, and dreams, and the contest will be the perfect platform for them to express and share them.  

Participants

● Member of the Vietnam Financial Advisors Community Group - VWA

● Currently working as a financial advisor and possessing knowledge and understanding of finance and investment.

Event dates: From April 20th to May 25th, 2024

● April 19th: The competition is officially announced.

● April 20th to May 20th: Submission period

● May 25th: Announcement of results and awarding of prizes to the winners

How to participate:

● Step 1: Contestants analyze the topic provided by the Organizing Committee in the form of an essay. Contestants can write an essay sharing their journey to becoming a financial advisor, the job content, experiences in the profession, challenges, and the attractiveness of the financial advisor profession in Vietnam…

● Step 2: Contestants post their entries in the Vietnam Financial Advisors Community Group (VWA): https://www.facebook.com/groups/CoVanTaichinhVietnam in public mode with the hashtag #Covantaichinh #VWA #FINAVI #BaoDautu (Entries without hashtags will be disqualified. Note: Likes and shares will only be counted on posts within the VWA group).

Note: Entries may include additional images, diagrams, and charts for illustration.

Examination standards and conditions:

About the author:

● The Organizing Committee will not handle complaints or requests regarding changes or additions to the author's name for the winning entries.

● The author has not violated the professional code of ethics for Financial Advisors, the Press Law, or any other laws.

Regarding the entries: Entries for the writing contest on the theme "Stories from the Financial Advisor Profession" must meet the following criteria:

● Submitted articles must use clear language, in accordance with Vietnamese customs and traditions. Content that contradicts the views of the Party, State, and Government , or that promotes any organization or individual, and fictional articles, must not be published.

● Submitted articles must be original works, not previously published or broadcast on any newspaper, radio station, or social media platform, and must not have been submitted to any other writing competition.

● Submitted works must not be copied from others in any form; if quoted for illustration, clear attribution is required. Contestants are solely responsible for any disputes, claims, lawsuits, or demands for compensation related to copyright and ownership of their entries. Participants are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided. Providing false information to the Organizing Committee will result in disqualification or forfeiture of prizes at any stage, even after the awards have been presented.

● The Organizing Committee is permitted to retain the submitted works and has the right to use them for communication purposes.

Prize structure

First prize: 3,000,000 VND in cash and a special gift from VWA.

Second prize: 2,000,000 VND in cash and a special gift from VWA.

Third prize: 1,000,000 VND in cash and a special gift from VWA.

● The top 5 entries will be published on the Baodautu.vn, tinnhanhchungkhoan.vn, vir.com.vn platforms and the VWA website: https://vwa.org.vn/. They will also be featured on the Finance & Business channel along with interviews with the contestants: https://www.youtube.com/@TaichinhKinhdoanhTV

● VWA members participating in the competition will be given priority to attend the Vietnam Financial Advisors Summit - VWAS 2024.

How the winners will be selected and the judging criteria:

There are two scoring levels:

● 50%: 1 Like ~ 1 point, Share ~ 2 points. Points are converted to a 100-point scale. The person with the highest score will receive 100 points, while the remaining participants will be counted proportionally to the highest score.

● 50%: The quality of the essay is judged by the judging panel on a 100-point scale.

The Organizing Committee has the sole discretion to determine the ranking of the entries.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to use your entry on various media platforms. During the event, depending on the actual circumstances, the Organizing Committee may adjust the rules accordingly. The final decision rests with the Organizing Committee.

Students will assess their personal financial situation to develop their own financial plan. They will identify risk profiles to create investment plans, develop asset allocation strategies, and learn how to restructure their investment portfolios when necessary.
