More than 20 km southwest of Tuy Hoa city, Phun valley belongs to Hoa My Tay commune, Tay Hoa district, Phu Yen province, formed from streams of Ca pass in the upper Banh Lai river. Phu Yen electronic information portal introduces this place as a place with clear blue water, majestic, with vertical cliffs stacked on top of each other, recently a favorite destination for adventure tourists .
The depth of the abyss from the edge of the rock to the water surface is about 50 m. When the upstream water from above falls onto the large rocks below, it creates a strong force that causes the water to splash back up in a white spray. Looking from afar, visitors have the feeling that the water is sprayed from the bottom of the abyss.
The distance from the city to Phun Valley is quite easy to travel, you can travel by car or motorbike. However, the 2km road from the parking lot to the edge of the valley is difficult to travel, you have to follow a rough stream, many stacked cliffs and cross a large lake.
Luu Ba Phuoc, 28 years old, living in Phu Yen, and a group of friends from Ho Chi Minh City explored Phun Abyss at the end of June. Phuoc said he has been to the abyss many times and often brings friends here "because Phun Abyss is still quite wild, there are many interesting things to experience", he said.
The amount of water flowing from upstream is not fixed, depending on the amount of rain, so it is not always possible to explore Phun Valley. The most suitable time is from January to August. Phu Yen weather this season does not rain much, convenient for traveling. Around June, the water in the lakes in the valley is full, helping visitors to comfortably paddle SUP.
The area is still quite wild and has not yet fully exploited tourism services. Visitors coming here to participate in underwater activities must wear life jackets and follow local guides to avoid accidents, Phuoc emphasized.
At Phun Valley, there are water holes stacked in layers, nestled between the rocks, surrounded by dense forest trees. When coming here in the summer, visitors will feel like they are lost in a small forest with a cool stream. "The hotter the summer, the easier it is to feel the cool, fresh water," Phuoc said.
Tam Ngo (white shirt), 30 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City, said he really liked the scenery here while exploring Phun Valley with his group of friends. "Phu Yen is hot, but when you get there, you can immerse yourself in the cool, clear water, it's wonderful," Tam said. In addition to SUP, visitors can organize picnics, barbecues, and trek around the nearby forests. After the experience, visitors should remember to bring their trash to the collection point.
To reach the abyss, visitors must hike in hot weather, carry heavy loads, wade through rivers, and climb rocks, so Phuoc emphasizes that the destination is not for people with weak physical strength or traveling alone. Visitors should go with a guide or hire a local guide to ensure safety.
