Safety and environmental protection notes
Due to the steep final stretch, this journey is not suitable for people with weak physical strength or traveling alone. Visitors should travel in groups to support each other. Most importantly, always be aware of maintaining public hygiene, collecting waste and taking it out of the area to protect the pristine natural landscape of Phun Valley.
Origin of the name and local legend
The name “Vuc Phun” comes from the special geological structure of the area. Water from upstream flows down through layers of eroded soft rocks, creating a buoyant force that makes the water foam up, looking like it is spraying from the bottom of the abyss. Besides, the local people also pass down the story of a couple in love but forbidden by their families, so they threw themselves into the abyss. Since then, the water gushed violently like a lament, and the name Vuc Phun was born to commemorate their love.
