Vu Quang National Park embraces the entire Ngan Truoi basin - a majestic river in the middle of the Truong Son range. In the upstream, Ngan Truoi River is likened to a giant snake winding through rugged mountains. In the downstream of this river, Ngan Truoi Lake was formed in late 2017, after 8 years of construction, becoming the 3rd largest reservoir in Vietnam. With an area of about 40km2, Ngan Truoi Lake not only supplies water for agricultural production, industry, aquaculture, daily life, ensuring the ecological environment but is also an area with a charming river landscape among the mountains.
