According to information from Luong Son Commune Police, Lam Dong Province, until the evening of September 15, excavators and dump trucks were still at the scene handling red sand spilled onto National Highway 1, km 1651 + 100 through Luong Dong Village, Luong Son Commune, Lam Dong Province.

Earlier, at around 2:00 p.m. the same day, red sand from a high sand hill about 150 meters from National Highway 1 flowed down with rainwater, covering the road surface in both directions. The red sand flowed down for about 100 meters, about 0.50 meters thick, causing the road to be impassable for vehicles in both directions.
Luong Son Commune Police and Traffic Police arrived at the scene to regulate traffic. Local authorities dispatched excavators and dump trucks to the scene to clear the sand from the road surface.

According to people living near the area where red sand flows down to Highway 1, the sand pours down in torrents, accompanied by rocks as big as helmets, which roll down very dangerously. Every time it rains heavily like this, the sand on the hill flows down, making people living nearby very worried.
