7th grade student won the championship of the contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands" in Ninh Binh

On the morning of October 3, the Military Youth Union coordinated with the Political Department - Vietnam Coast Guard, the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 and the Party Committee and authorities of Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province to organize the "Border and Island Love" Festival in 2025 and launch the "I love my homeland's sea and islands" contest in Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province.

Attending the event were Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Mr. Nguyen Anh Chuc, Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee; Major General Tran Van Xuan, Deputy Commander of Vietnam Coast Guard; leaders of units in the Army; agencies and departments of Ninh Binh province and Hoa Lu ward.

The program includes outstanding activities such as: Propagating to the people about the current situation of the sea and islands, the Law on the Coast Guard and related legal documents; displaying images of the homeland of Vietnam and the activities of the Vietnam Coast Guard; visiting and giving gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy beneficiaries, fishermen, families affected by storm No. 10; distributing leaflets, legal handbooks, giving national flags; awarding scholarships and gifts to poor students who have overcome difficulties to study well in Ninh Binh province...

“This is an activity of profound political significance, demonstrating the traditional nature of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers”, contributing together with local Party committees and authorities to do a good job of social security, economic development, maintaining political stability, social order and safety, effectively carrying out military and national defense work in the locality, especially at the present time, in localities (including Ninh Binh province) are struggling to cope with natural disasters, storms and floods”, the Head of the Military Youth Union expressed.

Candidates compete in the contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands"

After the launching ceremony was the contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands" of 100 students from 3 secondary schools: Ly Tu Trong, Truong Han Sieu, Le Hong Phong, Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province.

The competition was exciting, enthusiastic and full of drama as the students competed in 4 parts: "Going out to sea", "Crossing the waves", "Arriving at the shore" and "Setting a sovereignty marker".

According to the Organizing Committee, the contest is organized according to the game show script "Ring the Golden Bell" in a live format, in the form of multiple choice questions with a system of questions prepared by the Organizing Committee.

The content of the questions focuses on the Party's viewpoints, policies, and guidelines and the State's policies and laws on seas and islands; general knowledge about Vietnam's seas and islands, oceans and climate change; Vietnamese and international laws related to seas and islands; harmful effects and ways to prevent drugs and school violence; local history, culture, and society; knowledge about functional forces at sea.

The Organizing Committee awarded the first prize of the contest to Nguyen Hoang Minh, class 7E, Le Hong Phong Secondary School.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes and 8 consolation prizes to the contestants with outstanding achievements.

Overcoming dramatic rounds with close scores, Nguyen Hoang Minh, class 7E, Le Hong Phong Secondary School became the Champion of the competition.

Second prize went to Tran Tuan Anh, class 8A4, Ly Tu Trong Secondary School and Nguyen Vu Bao Ngoc, class 8G, Le Hong Phong Secondary School.

Third prize went to: Pham Quynh Chi, class 7I and Lam Thu Phuong, class 8D, Le Hong Phong Secondary School.

According to the leaders of the Coast Guard Command, the contest aims to educate patriotism, national pride, and foster love for the homeland's sea and islands among the young generation. Thereby, raising awareness, arousing the patriotic spirit of students, contributing to building and protecting the Fatherland.

The Organizing Committee presented gifts to policy families, fishermen and poor students who overcame difficulties.

Also within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee presented 230 gifts and 30 bicycles to policy families, fishermen, religious people, students in difficult circumstances and families affected by storm No. 10; and also presented 3 televisions to local secondary schools to serve teaching purposes.

Immediately after the program, leaders of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, leaders of Ninh Binh province and delegates visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers Cao Thi Hoi (Ninh Khang commune), Vietnamese Heroic Mother Le Thi Than (Dong Thanh ward) and Vietnamese Heroic Mother Pham Thi Y (Ninh Xuan commune).
