On the morning of October 4, information from Dak Lak Provincial Police said that the female driver who caused the traffic accident at 9:25 p.m. on October 3 in Dray Bhang Commune, Dak Lak Province, which resulted in the death of the Commune Chairman, has turned herself in.
According to information from Dak Lak Provincial Police, at around 9:25 p.m. on October 3, at Km16+650 on National Highway 27 in Hamlet 4, Dray Bhang Commune, Mr. Le Phuoc Toan (born in 1981, residing at 129/10 Ama Khe Street, Buon Ma Thuot Ward, Chairman of Dray Bhang Commune) and a number of officers, soldiers and local authorities were organizing traffic diversion due to a flooded road section.
At this time, Mr. Le Phuoc Toan and the people on duty used flashlights to light up the roadside to direct traffic and warn traffic. However, the pickup truck with license plate 47A-461.73 driven by Le Thi Cam Chi (born in 1992, residing in village 1, Ea Ktur commune) was traveling at high speed from Ea Ktur commune to Buon Ma Thuot ward and hit Mr. Le Phuoc Toan head-on.

The crash threw the victim dozens of meters away. Immediately afterward, Mr. Le Phuoc Toan was taken to the Central Highlands General Hospital for emergency treatment, but due to severe injuries, the victim died.
Immediately after causing the accident, driver Le Thi Cam Chi left the scene. Upon receiving the report, the Traffic Police of Dak Lak Province Police arrived at the scene to coordinate with other authorities to investigate and clarify the cause of the accident.
According to some sources, at the time of the accident, driver Le Thi Cam Chi had been drinking alcohol. Regarding this issue, the leader of Dak Lak Provincial Police said that they are directing professional units to investigate and clarify the matter for strict handling according to regulations.
